No one seems to credit Mike McQuay with helping to forge the genre of cyber-punk, even though he basically set the template with his Mathew Swain series that was later used by Blade Runner and William Gibson and hordes of others .I have been a fan of McQuay's writings ever since I was 12 years old and the bottom line is this: ALL of Mike McQuay's Mathew Swain books are worth reading and the fact that you can buy used copies of his Swain series for PENNIES on-line should be enough to motivate you to grab up a few before i get them all--in which case you will have to wait until Christmas to receive them as gifts!

read this book a couple of times. loved it. mathew swain is the cynical cool tough guy with a soft heart when it suits him. And a sense of humour to piss off his enemies or endeare him to his friends.this book was probably set around the year 2080 in the 21st century though it doesn't say when it is. Its set in a world were the corporate dollar is all that counts for the ones who run the place and people are expendable commodities. Hope that kindle decide to scan all 4 of the mathew swain series one day soon and ensure there survival as nice pieces of scifi. rest in peace mike mcquay who died to young. 1949-1995 (author).

Mathew Swain, smells trouble on a so-called "perfect" lunar colony and finds plenty of it in this second in the series by Mike McQuay. These old pulp paperbacks from the early eighties are a lot of fun and they all feature great artwork on the covers.
