Thoughtful and illuminating,
This review is from: When War Becomes Personal: Soldiers' Accounts from the Civil War to Iraq (Paperback)
Amidst the storm of soundbites and cliches that we call modern living, voices that speak thoughtfully and from personal experience are rare and precious. Read this book if you would like to understand a little about what it means to go to war, if you would like an antidote to the propaganda and nonsense normally broadcast on the subject.

WORTHY MEMOIRS,
By James L. Woolridge "Wooly in PSL, FL." (Sunny Florida) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: When War Becomes Personal: Soldiers' Accounts from the Civil War to Iraq (Paperback)
Donald Anderson is a former Air Force officier and a teacher at the Air Force Academy and an award winning authur. He gives us WHEN WAR BECOMES PERSONAL, a book with thirteen personal accounts of war. These are not command stories but peronal looks about war, loss, courage and bravery, a look by real men. A different look than the reader might be used to but a real one. Well worth your attention, and well written. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
