When Weavers Wove,
By G. Mitch (Unity, Maine) - See all my reviews
This review is from: When Weavers Wove: Short Stories of a Small New England Mill Town (Paperback)
This is an excellent book. It is full of accounts and anecdotes about life in small-town Maine. The humor and sentimentality can be appreciated anyone, whether or not the are from Maine. Wintle writes vivid accounts of growing up in the 50s and 60s, from elementary school life to teenage mischief, from fondly-remembered local figures to businesses and schools which have long since closed down. And along the way, you'll find many of Wintle's unique insights such as his "Blue Light Bulb Theory of Healing." If you like reminiscence mixed with humor, this book is a must-have.
