More About the Author
I am a wife, mother, and national speaker who helps women find strength for the soul. I have authored 15 books with Harvest House Publishers, including "When Women Walk Alone" (more than 120,000 copies sold), "When a Woman Inspires Her Husband," "When God Sees Your Tears" and my most recent, "Ten Secrets to Becoming a Worry-Free Mom" (available January 2016). My husband, Hugh, and I have released a book together, too, called "When Couples Walk Together: 31 Days to a Closer Connection."
I recently had the privilege of releasing a book that my daughter, Dana, helped me write: "When a Mom Inspires Her Daughter." Many people ask how I got started writing and publishing. I would have to say my books are the result of more than 25 years of ministering to women, writing and teaching Bible studies to women, and recording the insights God has taught me through lessons in my own life. (By the way, I have free downloadable resources on my website for anyone aspiring to be a published author -- articles including "How to Get Started in Writing and Publishing," "Five Common Myths About Book Publishing" and "How to Know if You're Being Called to Write and Speak." I even have a sample book proposal you can see and copy if you're serious about getting started.)
Women's groups across the country have enjoyed studying through my books, so I always include questions for thought, reflection, and application at the end of each chapter. I also have free downloadable small group facilitators' guides available on my website for study through some of my titles.
You can find my writings on Crosswalk.com, Believe.com, FaithHappenings.com, LaundryMoms.com and other sites, as well as on my blog at www.StrengthForTheSoul.com. I am also a part of the Bible Gateway blogger grid and the First Corinthians 13 Parenting Team. I live in the San Diego area of Southern California with my husband of nearly 30 years. My daughter, now an adult, lives nearby and works for the Walt Disney Company. I enjoy reading, traveling, taking Disney vacations with my family (perks of my daughter's job!) and staying physically active.
Stop by my website and say "hello." I try my best to personally respond to everyone I hear from. : )
