When God Writes Your Love Story changes the focus a bit from a lot of other high-profile contemporary Christian "relationship advice" books from "Don't have sex before you are married because God says not to and because it will be more special if you wait" to "Wait, because God's best for you is for you to wait for the One who you can love and trust completely. Wait, because knowing God's love is more important than knowing another human's. Wait, because when you are so in love with God, you will WANT to listen and care about what He says." One example is that most of us don't like chores or our parents rules- until we decide that they are important for us, that they really are what is best for us, and because we love them and decide to obey them, and that it's the same with our Father in Heaven.

This book also talks about not just seeing how close you can get without going "too far," instead talking about keeping your purity (both physical and emotional- as in, not sharing your heart with someone who will not care).

I would totally suggest this book to anyone willing to have some opinions gently- unobtrusively- challenged and thoughts provoked.

Easy to read and understand book about allowing God to choose your mate. So many teens and adults for that matter seem desperate for a relationship, any relationship in some cases. It seems their identity is all wrapped up in the relationship and the focus and energy is maintaining the relationship, even if it's unhealthy. This book shares the authors dating disasters and the desperation so many folks have. The authors finally realize their identity must be in Jesus Christ and not in some relationship. The authors hand over the reins of their love lives to God and allow Him to write their love story. The book is authentic and offers solid tips on how to achieve peace of mind when the Creator of the Universe is in charge of this important area. The book's theme might be: Do you want to settle for less than what God has planned? I read the book after a college student raved about it and agreed--it's a fantastic book. We bought 3 copies, one for each child and a household copy which we're planning to share with others. My husband is currently reading a copy. When he's finished we'll give each child their own copy, ask them to read, and we'll discuss it afterwards. I believe this is a life altering book and recommend it highly.

Eric and Leslie Ludy's "When God Writes Your Love Story" is a wonderful non-fiction look at male-female relationships. This book offers the reader both the male AND the female perspective (on different topics) in the same volume. Overflowing with powerful lessons and insights into romantic love relationships, this book is appropriate whether you're in a relationship or looking for love. It is never too late to benefit from this work.

There are thoughtful questions for reflection at the end of each chapter. "When God Writes Your Love Story" covers EVERYTHING - from choosing God's way to sex to marriage and more. Eric and Leslie Ludy are the most adorable couple, and they have written a very important book.

This book is fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about Eric and Leslie! Simply the best book on biblical guy/girl relationships that honor God. I especially love that the book begins by focusing on self... making sure that God is the center of your life before you bring someone else into it. I work with middle and high school girls at my church and this book is my number 1 recommendation for them to read! I wish it was required reading for all girls (and guys)! I read this book and have now passed it along to everyone I know. I am so thankful for the work Eric and Leslie are doing in their ministry!

This book overal came to me at a time when I really needed it. I really like this one guy but I wasn't sure how to act around him in a godly manner. In the past I havn't always done things I knew were right, but for some reason this time I wanted to go about things differently. I've wanted to be closer to God and I've wanted to do things in a way that would please Him. I prayed and prayed about this. That was around the time I came across this book. It was exactly what I needed and now I'm letting my friends borrow it!

This book opened my eyes to the kind of relationship every person needs with the LORD. I think that young adults and adults in any walk of life need to learn how to let God "take the pen" to their life and write it for them. This book is fascinating, well written and changed my life and my whole view of love, God and realtionships.

It's tough being a young Christian in today's world. Temptations and dangers surround them, and it's easy to make the wrong decision. Unfortunately, due to the worldly influence found everywhere, young Christians and non-believers alike, are looking for romance instead of an enduring love.
Jesus gave his all for us, but it's easy to just give him a part of our lives, keeping places in our heart where we deny him access. It's easy to say we've turned our lives over to him, while hanging a no tresspassing sign on the door. There's a big difference between a mind commitment and heart commitment.
Eric and Leslie Ludy have written an honest and compelling account of the minefields they traveled through on their way to finding real love. This book should be required reading for every young person you know. Recommended.

This book is LEGIT! Before I was saved, my single days were a tragic testimony of a young woman striving to gain a sense of power through inappropriate relationships with guys. Rather than using the beauty that God gave me to bring glory to Him, I would use it as bait to lure men into feeding my BIG ego. Rather than encouraging men to seek the kingdom of God above all else, I subconsciously wanted them to "worship me," and if I was successful in seducing a man with my charms and beauty, I secretly felt powerful. Due to my feelings of powerlessness in my relationship with an abusive father and two brothers, I was unable to gain a sense of love that I always longed for. I had literally been re-creating authoritative relationships with guys in order to "win the fight." In attempts to fill the sibling and father-shaped hole in my heart and establish some sense of self-worth through relationships, I was slowly creating a huge truckload full of emotional stress and emptiness. I soon found out that the only true source of intimacy and satisfaction was in a relationship with my heavenly Father. I learned how to love Him whole-heartedly and to not worry about past relationships that caused me to stumble, to listen to His voice on a daily basis, and to lean on my relationship with Him for my hope, joy, intimacy, and security rather than trying to find those things in a romantic relationship. This book has given me a new way of living life and a new way to look at relationships differently. I am now waiting for God to put the man of my dreams in my life, whether that is 5-20 yrs down the road, I'd rather serve Him whole-heartedly than to not and waste my entire life trying to find a man that is the complete opposite of what God wants me to be with the rest of my life. "TRUE LOVE WAITS"

My friends nagged me constantly to read this book. It took me some convincing because I thought I knew enough about how to have a successful, God-centered relationship. The truth was I didn't even think about some of the things this book says! It is genius. Second only to Theology of the Body by Blessed John Paul the Second, but they are almost two completely different books. Definitely read this if you want to understand how to find the perfect someone, and how to accept and improve where you are in life right now as far as your relationship status goes.

This book was so mind setting for me, made me vison a lot of things I wish I would have done differently, I also can relate a lot to this book. The relationship that my fiance and I have is a little different than most, we live in two different states as of right now and I must say long distance relationships are hard work but as long as you have the time to put the work in and let the Lord work his way into your life it makes a huge difference.

I must say my favorite part(s) in this book were the questions at the end of every chapter My finace and I both enjoyed answering these as a couple.

For future readers, I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have.
