Hearing (and being captivated and entranced by) "Into the Blue" on the Season 2 Finale of "Castle" sent me out to the internet to find out who and what. A little research and I decided that I was willing to risk a few dollars and roll the dice on what looked to be intriguing music, so I placed my order for the CD.

I live on a small island in the South Pacific, and mail takes a long time to get here, but when it arrived, I immediately stuck it in my CD player. I really didn't have much in the way of preconceptions, having heard only the one song, which was probably a good thing. Because SJ-H's music wasn't *like* anything I'd heard before! As a friend who listened to it in my car while we were driving said, "I don't know how to classify it; it's different." Which it definitely is ... but only in the best ways possible!

The first and most obvious are the amazing qualities of the vocals. Wow!!! Emotional depth *and* interesting stylings. Next are the melodies themselves and the arrangements, which, while lean (or uncluttered--definitely a good thing), communicate as effectively as Ms. Jackson-Holman's voice. Those were the things that kept me hooked through the first three or four listens, just luxuriating in the richness of the sound.

But then I started paying more attention to the lyrics, and Wow! again. There are three or four phrases on this album that would have been worth the purchase price simply for the poetry found on the liner notes, even without the music. My favorite: "from my pen the red ink ebbs and flows--my paper stained with my yearning to be free".

So if you're considering purchasing this album, go for it--without hesitation! You won't be sorry ... and you'll keep finding new reasons to listen again!

Possibly the best debut of 2010. This album is great from start to finish. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes Adele, Feist, Norah Jones or the like.

Not really a review, only a humble recommendation because I am not a musician, just an appreciator of music and I heard one of the songs---"Into the Blue" during the "Castle" finale and was just taken in by the words. I really like how Amazon lets you listen to snippets of songs before buying.

Anyway, Sara's voice is so clear and strong. "Into the Blue" is beautiful. For other moms out there, this is a CD you can listen to with your daughter. The songs have lyrics (remember them?) not just drum machines and throbbing bass.

When You Dream is a creative masterpiece! Sara Jackson-Holman fills her debut album with heartfelt lyrics and captivating, piano-based music. She is an artist to keep an eye on, as this entry into the music business is truly the mark of more good things to come. Highly recommended, you won't regret buying this album!

One cannot listen to the music and lyrics without being touched at a deep level and feeling like you have just toured Sara's soul. Remarkable musicality. Profound depth beyond her years. So excited to see where her music takes her.

Once you listen to this CD you won't be able to stop. The beautiful, longing lyrics show her talent for song writing. Let Me In & Cellophane will stick in your head. Into The Blue (on the season finale of Castle) is so dreamy. Then there's Red Ink that showcases her training as a classically trained pianist. Every song on this CD is awesome!! This girl is so talented... can't wait to see her in concert.

She is unique, talented, creative and the more I listen to this cd the more I love it!
