I needed this book two years ago when my father had his first stroke, and I am deeply grateful to have it now. Its wealth of practical and well-organized information provides more practical tips in one reference book than I could learn on my own. As my father and mother-in-law continue to age, I know I will be referring back to it again and again.

A straightforward table of contents makes finding information easy. Personal accounts from a wide-variety of caregivers reassure and provide fresh perspectives for diverse circumstances. Biblical references soothe the soul. Excellent tips on organizing THE NOTEBOOK and the chapter explaining medical office procedures are invaluable. The forms and checklists in the back are greatly helpful. I wish I had known the insightful "Caregiver Interview Questions" when I was interviewing people 18 months ago.

In hindsight, I realize how truly valuable this resource book is. But in foresight, I also see how I can become better prepared so my children have an easier time with my aging process.

Thank you for this wonderful resource book on aging. I believe it will become just as precious to our family as the baby resource books were (that I dog-eared during that earlier season of life).

If you haven't had an aging parent, this book may seem unnecessary. But if you do have a parent who needs your help as they get older, this book is a real source of support and comfort. It is sort of a support group in a book. The authors speak from a personal perspective and offer hope from someone who has "been there, done that." It is a much needed book for those in the "sandwich" generation, taking care of elderly parents while still trying to raise their own families. While it is good to read in the midst of caretaking, I recommend this for those who aren't actually taking care of their parents yet. It will go a long way in preparing you for what is to come.

I would recommend this book to any caregiver. It is thoughtful and gives wonderful support and ideas to those of us in the "sandwich generation"

I'm still raising a young child and needing to care for my mother, thus, I'm "sandwiched" between the generations. It's stressful at times having to juggle motherhood and caregiving of my mother.

This book is great. It's filled with good ideas and websites to find more information, plus scripture to ease a troubled soul.

If you are just looking for a group hug, "we understand your pain," kind of book, this is tops. If you want something that has real concrete help and items you might not of thought of in caring for an aged parent this is NOT your book. I read half, found it repetitive, with stories that one wonders if they weren't made up, but since they didn't anyway, it didn't matter. This book was a complete waste of time and money. Only if you want to be reassured you're not alone and that this book can reach out and hug would I even consider buying it.
