About the Author

Laurie M. Orlov is a Vice President and Research Director at Forrester Research, serving as both an analyst and director of research on management topics. She has more than thirty years of experience in the technology and management fields, writing and speaking on business issues. In 1996, Laurie was named to McGraw-Hill/Open Computing's list of the Top 100 Women in Computing. She has shared care of her mother and mother-in-law with her sister and husband for a number of years. Laurie has a B.A. in Music from the University of Rochester. She is an amateur pianist who regularly plays old favorites at nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
