About the Author
Cheri Huber is the author of 19 books, including There Is Nothing Wrong with You and Time-Out for Parents. She founded the Mountain View Zen Center in Mountain View, California, and the Zen Monastery Practice Center in Murphys, California, and teaches in both communities. She travels widely and often, leading workshops and retreats around the United States and abroad, most recently in Costa Rica and Italy. She founded Living Compassion in 2003, a nonprofit group comprised of There Is Nothing Wrong With You Retreats (based on the book); Global Community for Peace: The Assisi Peace Project; The Africa Vulnerable Children Project; and Open Air Talk Radio, her weekly call-in radio show originating from Stanford University. She lives in Murphys, California.

It's a book to read slowly with an open mind and an open spirit.
While the concepts seem simple on the surface, I found myself reading and re-reading paragraphs and still coming away with the feeling that I wasn't fully grasping them. When this happens, there's usually one of two things going on; I'm either overthinking, or I'm resisting (and sometimes it's both!). Ultimately, like with all of Cheri's books, I got more out of it because I had to slow down, because she challenges me to examine my conditioning, not in a negative way, but constructively, and with the intent of acheiving a greater level of peace and compassion.

I was reading an article that cited a passage from this book and touted its usefulness, so I bit.
My expectations, based on the article, were that this book woujld be a tremendous source of personal help for me. I was excited to get the book open it up, and became angry at realizing I had been taken for my money. I fully expect that the positive reviews are friends of the author. This book was worse than useless as it was extremely aggravating, and I am out $9. The highlight of my evening will be throwing it out, in the trash can outdoors. The one positive of the experience, was that the book itself was in excellent condition, and the shipping was very fast.
