Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

nothing more than feelings The new board book series Feelings for Little Children by Elizabeth Crary and Shari Steelsmith is designed to help toddlers learn to talk about emotions. The rhymes of When You're Mad and You Know It advise the steamed to "blow air out," "shake it out" and "give a shout." Other titles include When You're Silly; When You're Happy; and When You're Shy. Mits Katayama's bright, simple pictures pair each round-faced emotional child with an animated animal mascot.

This book is great for toddlers, who have a difficult time understanding emotions. It is simple and we act out each page.

4.0 out of 5 stars My son loves these books!, December 6, 2008
This review is from: When You're Mad: And You Know It (Feelings for Little Children Ser.) (Feelings for Little Children Series) (Board book)
I received the set of these books at my baby shower and wasn't "wowed" by them. But as my son grew and took an interest in books, he absolutely loved them! He's 3.5 now and still loves them. These books are a great way to open the discussion about feelings. As we're reading this book, we often make up new stories about how or what we can do if we feel angry. Great books, thank you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Helping Kids Deal With Emotions, April 11, 2008
By
This review is from: When You're Mad: And You Know It (Feelings for Little Children Ser.) (Feelings for Little Children Series) (Board book)
What a great book for helping kids deal with emotions. Kids who are able to recognize their feelings and know how to express them are much better prepared in the long run to cope in difficult situations. My two boys, 2 and 3 love this book, so do I, and I plan to get the whole series for them.
