Haunting Jazz Romanticism,
This review is from: When You're There (Audio CD)
The debut of Frank LoCrasto is quite extrodinary. The fact that such a young man could compose, arrange, and perform such sublimely haunting songs with shades of Debussy & Wagner merged with Antonio Carlos Jobim, Miles Davis, et. al. (to say the least) is a rarity in a time of generic, so-called jazz, like Kenny G. (this is not Jazz, people!!!!!!) This album is an exquisite, highly artistic original interpretaion of classical and Jazz, presented in a totally original format. Usually, I'm a snob about Jazz; I'm a traditionalist favoring the great standards, but I feel Frank has created an album worthy of being categorized as a group of jazz standards.I was infuriated when I read the "Napster" review by Scott something or another. First of all, who considers "Napster" reviews as a measure of artistic greatness! Secondly, Scott Something's review was completely one-dimensional, and is a testament to how superficial, and dismally pissy "Scott" must be. Don't waste your time reading the review, because it's not worthwhile. Substance, beauty, transcendence-- it's all here with Frank Lo Crasto's debut.

Give This Fantastic Debut A Try!,

This review is from: When You're There (Audio CD)
In the last month this has become my most-played CD. LoCrasto's compositions are haunting, complex and sublimely beauty. Listen to his Jordan (track 3). No one comes closer to meeting the standard set by Bill Evans and his compositions, e.g., Tiffany, Letter to Evan, Waltz for Debby. LoCrasto has a mature compositional voice and a great touch on the keyboard. If you haven't bought this CD, do so. And let's hope Max Jazz records his next album soon.
