Editorial Reviews

After two-and-a-half years, the music that provided a soundtrack for rebellious-yet-sensitive, coastal-dreaming pop-punk kids of the early 00's is back. Yellowcard put the break to rest with the announcement of their seventh albumWhen You're Through Thinking, Say Yes and are tearing into life on the road again. Returning to their pre-major label indie beginnings, Yellowcard signed with Hopeless Records for their seventh studio album. After 3 million records and over 4 million single tracks sold, Yellowcard is poised to re-energize their rabid fanbase and gain new ones with their heartfelt anthems of youth.

As an avid longtime Yellowcard fan(listening to them since the release of 'One for the Kids'), I have been anxiously awaiting this day since the band went on hiatus early in 2008. I listened up to their previous four albums in anxious anticipation for this release, and since downloading 'WYTTSY', I cannot stop listening. The lyrics are as powerful as ever, Ryan's vocals sound in top shape, the guitars riffs are poppy and powerful in true Yellowcard fashion, LP3 is killing it on the drums as always, and the rock violin is pulling the sound together in a way unmatched by any band besides Yellowcard.

This album is incredible. From the upbeat, poppy sound of "With You Around", to the more somber tone of "Sing for Me", to the powerful pop punk riffs of "For You, and Your Denial", Yellowcard has constructed a complete album that will surely fill the void left by their hiatus and will fulfill the craving for new Yellowcard music so many fans have desired for so long. I promise you won't be disappointed with this album. I describe it this way.. most people call this album as comeback. I'm calling it a homecoming. Yellowcard is back!!

I couldn't wait for this album to come out. Yellowcard is back finally after being gone a few years. I've missed them over the years. Yellowcard is one of my favorite bands, I've been listening to their music since I was 12, when Ocean Avenue came out, and I'm 20 now, so they have stayed close to me over they years. Their music means something to me. This album is still Yellowcard, The Yellowcard we all know, and love. On this album they go back to their roots. This album is something new, and something old. This album is amazing, and deserves more than five stars. This album is everything I wanted it to be. I personally think Yellowcard keeps getting better, and better after each album they release. I've had this album on repeat since I've gotten it. This album is worth every penny I spent on it. I personally think this is a must have album, especially for Yellowcard fans. Ryan's voice is great as ever. I do personally think Yellowcard has evolved on this album, even though this album sounds similar to their previous albums, but in a good way. The only thing I wish is if this album could have had more than ten songs, because that isn't enough for me. I personally think they should of made a Deluxe Version of this album, it would of been worth the extra cost. I personally think this album is worth way more than $10. Yellowcard is back seriously with the violin we all know, and love. The violin makes Yellowcard, and makes them unique, and who they are, without it, I don't think they would be the same. We first fell in love with the violin on Ocean Avenue. I personally think this album sounds a lot like Ocean Avenue, but almost ten years later. I also like the background vocals on this album. I haven't gone this in depth on an album review in awhile, this is how much I love this album.Read more ›

This cd has everything you could possibly listen for. A beautiful violin, wonderful vocals, catchy & meaningful lyrics, rocking guitars and awesome drums.
I really have no complaints with this album and I've grown addicted to all the songs on this album.
I really can't see any Yellowcard fan disliking this album. It's a very mature, meaningful and catchy album. Personally, it reminds me of a mix of Ocean Avenue and Paper Walls.

Simply put, this album is more than worth the money. Easily one of my favorite cds :)

As a long time, incredibly loyal fan of Yellowcard (I discovered them right as One For the Kids was released) I freaked out when I saw the announcement : Yellowcard was back and a new album was in the works! I was so afriad that the band's quality would have diminished over the years but that is NOT the case. There is not a single song on this album I am not crazy about. This cd is more of Ocean Avenue than lights & sounds or Paper Walls. The very first track,The Sound of You and Me is a perfect beginning..it starts out softly then BAM your raptured by Ryan Key's voice and the violin. from then on,the cd barely lets up. Hang You Up and Sing For Me are the only soft songs on the album. Hang You Up is incredibly intense though, because you can hear the sincerity as Ryan sings the words.

Once again,Yellowcard has great lyrics that we can all relate to. Yellowcard sings of perfect summers, true love, letting people you love go,and heartbreak. I know i was especially able to relate to a few of the songs, specifically The Sound of You and Me,Be the Young, and With You Around.

The violin, while not featured as much as in previous albums, still shines. When its on,you are MESMERIZED. The cd just doesn't give you a break! I also have to take a moment to compliment my favorite song on the album,Be the Young. The guitar is ABSOLUTELY mindblowing on this track! The lyrics were also very relatable to me,with stuff I am dealing with in my life. Once again,Yellowcard has astounded me and I eagerly await their next album

Two years ago, Yellowcard went on a hiatus and I thought it was the end of the band. Their label had dropped them, Ryan Key had started another band (Big If) and Longineu Parsons was touring with Adam Lambert. What a great surprise for me to find out they had reunited and were working on a new album. I couldn't wait for this CD to come out. I am a fan of One for the Kids/Ocean Avenue Yellowcard days, when the music was very catchy and basically the soundtrack to a perfect summer. I was disappointed by both Lights and Sounds and Paper Walls, where they went from Pop/Punk to Rock even though Paper Walls was a good step back in the right direction. Thankfully, this new CD is more like Ocean Avenue and One for the Kids. My favorite songs on "When you're through thinking say yes" are the more upbeat tracks such as "For you and your denial" and "Life of leaving home" which is where Yellowcard excels: upbeat catchy pop/punk. Ryan Key re-recorded the song "Hang you up" with Yellowcard (he had previously recorded it with his other band "Big If") and put it on this album. It is my least favorite track of the album, I find it rather repetitive but it might grow on me. I am very very pleased with this CD and to see they are back to the sound that made them successful. Thank you Yellowcard for reuniting and making such a great album for the fans. If you missed the Ocean Avenue days, run and buy this record!
