I believe this book would benefit any wife/mother going for the first time to serve on the mission field. Loaded with practical tips and biblical principles, the book is one that women can turn to during different stages of their cross-cultural adjustment. It covers topics from being sure of one's call to dealing with the cost of serving Jesus on the mission field. The book has useful advice for discouraged mothers who struggle to raise their children in a foreign culture. And there is an excellent chapter on nurturing one's marriage while living on the field.

Brandi is a godly woman and writes from first hand experience about living in another country. She is also a gifted teacher and writer, and as a result, her book is down to earth and God-centered. I wish that it had been available when I first went to the field. I highly recommend it.

I believe this book is helpful for all areas of ministry. I am a wife of a youth minister and mother of two. This book helped me see ministry in a new light and it is well written. Brandi gives many life-application examples and you can truly see that her heart and desire is to further the Kingdom. I would encourage every woman in any area of ministry to read this book and put it to action! It will transform your thoughts and attitudes toward reaching others for Christ, how to love those you are ministering to, and many important lessons in parenting your little ones while doing the Lord's work.

I absolutely loved this book. I'm simply a sister in Christ, and have no plans for the mission field, but Brandi's words of wisdom made me stop and consider things that I can do as a "missionary" at home. She writes just like she talks, so reading this makes you feel like you are just sitting on the couch with your best friend who just happens to be a woman with a heart for Christ and can pour it out eloquently on the printed page. From start to finish you will find words of wisdom and encouragement in this wonderful book.

Thank you, Brandi, for sharing your heart with us. Your advice, experiences, and struggles are so encouraging. As a former missionary, I completely identified with the anecdotes and tears. What a treasure to have what feels like my own story in print! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is currently living overseas, is planning to live overseas, or to any friend or family member who wants to understand the depth of the struggle and eccentricities of life on the other side of the globe.
