Do you have the Nikon warranty form in the D7000 box?

I'll have to check. Didn't think to look. I did register my D7000 on Nikon's website, however.

Thank you for your reply. I will register mine. How about your D7000? Are you satified with it?

So far so good. I've taken a few hundred pictures so far but I'm still playing at this point, acclimating myself to it from my old D40. Love the low noise, low light performance compared to the D40.

I wouldn't worry too much about the warranty because Nikon provides a generous 5 warranty on its equipments. I am more concern about Amazon's return policy though. It's only 30 days. I received my 28-300mm lens almost 2 weeks now and haven't gotten the body to try it out. If the body comes after the 30 days period and I find that the lens is defective or not to my liking, what am I going to do with the lens? Amazon.com should give us an option whether we want to receive the lens or not when the body is not available for shipment.

ditto - got same "after Dec 25th" email for 9/30 order of body only, order from Amazon itself.
