Jim Ryan makes an amazing statement with this CD...replete with exceptional improvisation by the likes of the great Eddie Gale, the very talented Alicia Mangan (throwing down some major sheets of sound), as well as the wonderfully intricate, hard swinging piano of Scott Looney, and the excellent locked-in feel of the rhythm section (Kitrstjan Bondesson: bass, Marshal Trammel: Drums) Ryan himself is a titan of saxophone, and an "unearthly" flutist...
This is a most auspicious recording, full of mystery and infused with its own peculiar mystical rhythms. anarchy and transcendence!
