I bought this book along with other Karen Katz books and my grandson loves "Where Is Baby's Pumpkin" the best. He loves looking for the different pictures and feeling the fabrics on the characters. His favorite part is opening the closet and finding the 5 bats. Even though he is only 16 months, he counts along with me. I would highly recommend this book for any baby or toddler.

This is the first Karen Katz book my son has seen. It was given to him as a Halloween present by his grandparents. This is the first book that my son insisits in his little 9 month old way of squirming and squealing, that I read to him again and again. I've placed it on his bookshelf in his bedroom and the first thing he does when he wakes up for a nap is holds his hand out in that direction to tell me he wants the book. Same thing before each nap and before bedtime. He is addicted! Every page has a large flap that is easy for little hands to maneuver and there are lot of shiny, sparkly, glittery colors in this book which I think he also finds highly attractive.

My five month old daughter LOVES this book and gets so excited over all of the pictures! The pictures are hidden under the flaps and are sparkly and glittery and the colors are so beautiful. I read other reviews that mentioned that their books had different textures like velvet on the black cat, but my board book does not have any texture...I actually wish it did as this would make it an A++.

It is also wonderful for talking with your baby about colors and shapes and, yes! ~ even prepositions. I am a teacher so I feel it is never too early to start no matter how young your baby is :~) This book made me look into all of the other Karen Katz books! I highly recommend it :)

I really hate to split hairs over a children's book, especially when the author is one of my favorites. But I'm disappointed in this one. We love our Karen Katz books, and thought this one would be as big a hit with my son as the others. Unfortunately, the book we received only has "sparkly" pictures on the cover and back page. The text notes a fuzzy black cat, sparkly bats, etc., but there's no fuzz and no sparkles. My son enjoys the book, but he never initiates reading it the way he does with the others in this series. "Where Is Baby's Birthday Cake?" etc. I didn't realize what a difference the shiny pictures and textures make until we got this. We had hoped to read this again and again with my son before Halloween, so we'd have lots to talk about through the month of October. This book didn't meet our needs, because it does not capture my son's interest. It's a sweet introduction to Halloween images and I think I can recommend it, but only if you buy in person so you know what you're getting.

I'm very disappointed in this publisher. I still greatly love the work of Karen Katz, but I'll think twice before buying from this series again. If the publisher can't be relied upon to deliver a uniform product, then I'll need to see what I'm getting before I check out. That's a bummer, since Amazon is where we buy our books.

Another Karen Katz winner. Where is Baby's pumpkin has bright colors, fun flaps, and a sweet story. This book would be fun to read along with your child.

The only negative I have is that I wish the flaps could be reinforced a little better- it didn't take long for my son to rip them off. Scotch tape works well enough to keep them on (packing tape works much better!)

I am so happy that I bought this book. She love it at the first sight! She love to touch the page and smile at the picture. Even I love to read this book, so intresting and cute!

My son is 13 months and LOVES this book. He will have me read it over and over. The only problem is that he's tearing it up because he wants to open the flaps himself and wants to turn the page before closing the flaps. The worst flap is the "is it behind mommy's bowls" because the flap opens from the center of the book so you have to be extra careful to close it all the way before turning the page. Ours is already bent in several places, and I'll have to "laminate" it with tape soon to keep it from tearing into pieces.

my daughter likes for me to read her this book. she still doesn't understand the halloween occassion but she just enjoys looking at the cute pictures...

Long after Halloween is over, this remains one of my daughter's favorite books. She is a fan of anything and everything by Karen Katz, but Where is Baby's Pumpkin seems to be a particular favorite. The pages are good and sturdy, and my daughter really likes the sparkly, shiny illustrations. So far, the flaps are holding up, though as she gets older (and stronger) and the flaps receive more wear and tear, this may change. But for now, they remain intact, and this book remains in heavy rotation for naptime/bedtime reading.

We have most of Karen Katz's books and my grandchildren love all of them. The illustrations are perfect for baby and the activity of lifting the flaps are engaging for them. I just wish the flaps were reinforced better. I read it to them and they lift the flap. After the 10th time, several of the flaps ripped (one's totally off)!
