4.0 out of 5 stars Deep and Engrossing
I must admit that this book started out a little slow and I was just beginning to give up on it when it started to become engrossing. This book goes much farther beneath the surface than a lot of Lori Wick's other novels. She does a tremendous job of tying the readers emotions into the storyline. 3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read (Almost 4 Stars)
This book is definitely one of my favorite Lori Wick books. It seems to be "deeper" than the rest. It is the story of the Fontaine family and Clayton Taggart, set in the 1870's in Colorado. "Where The Wild Rose Blooms" focuses on the romance between Clayton and Jackie, one of the Fontaine girls. I particularly liked the characters in this book. They...

They were certainly not perfect (especially Jackie) and seemed much more believable in their flaws than some of Lori's other characters. Because of the "believability" and development of her characters, we really enjoyed the romance a lot more and felt very rewarded when it happened-even though we knew it was coming. This is a nice, fun, and sometimes thought-provoking read that you'll enjoy.

This book goes much farther beneath the surface than a lot of Lori Wick's other novels. She does a tremendous job of tying the readers emotions into the storyline. There was also elements of surprise, especially the ending which paves a very exciting road to the sequel. I was delighted with this book, as I usually am with Lori Wick. I must say I would like for her to write more novels with as much depth as this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Read..., January 20, 2001

While I enjoy Lori Wicks books, this story seemed to have more depth to it than some of her other books. I must admit, the book jacket synopis misled me. I thought it was going to be a nice, heartwarming love story -- and it was to a point. But it was much more than that. It was a story of unconditional love and determination. I admired Jackie's spunk and determination. I admired the love the Fontaine family showed for one another. I especially enjoyed Jackie's sister and brother in law who were such a force in working with Jackie after her tragic accident. I loved Clayton and how he never gave up on Jackie, even after he received the disturbing letter from her telling him she had met someone else. This story was a wonderful read and inspiring. I'm now looking forward to reading others in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars She's outdone herself!!!! What a tale!!!!, July 6, 2004
By
Lori Wick has done it again with her deep and romantic tale of Jackie Fontaine and Clay Taggart. Jackie took a little getting used to, but who couldn't but instantly fall in love with Clay? This book also helped me learn a great lesson: if you have faith, the Lord will provide for you. And if you have faith, you will find eternal happiness and love with someone wonderful. Huzzah for Lori Wick and her amazing characters!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Christian Romance!, December 2, 2002

This is my first book, but definitely not my last, of Lori Wick's that I have read. How adorable and beautiful this novel is. A valuable lesson in this is to be learned and that is that we can make it through any struggle we have with the Lord's help and ONLY with the Lord's help. How beautiful and marvelous this novel is. I gave it 4-stars because I had a difficult time staying awake at several points throughout the book. But, great read overall.

5.0 out of 5 stars couldn't put it down!, May 28, 1998
I have been hooked on Lori Wick since I read Sophie's Heart, and decided to try some of her historical fiction. Now I am more hooked than ever. I didn't want to stop after every chapter - I had to know what was going to happen between Clay and Jackie and what was going to happen with Jackie's spiritual journey. Was she going to realize just how far away from God she had wandered? Was she going to realize that Clay could see it and wouldn't allow himself to get any closer until she came to some sort of realization and understanding? Every chapter left off making me want to know more! I couldn't wait to get my hands on the next in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another outrageous Book!!!, May 11, 2002
By A Customer
Lori Wick has really outdone herself again! Where the Wild Rose Blooms was an excellant book. I never put it down! Jackie Fontaine may have a rotten streak about her, but passion lingers at the lowest part of her heart. It is amazing how Clayton Taggart cares for her. Then something tragic happens that leaves Clay to wonder about what is going on between him and Jackie. I hope from the bottom of my heart that you will read this book and other books done by Lori Wick. The thing that draws me toward Lori Wick's books are that they teach me things. I hope you will enjoy this book as much as i have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not your typical love story--Hurray!, July 11, 2000
Jackie & Clay...what a great love story! However, theirs was not the only love story in this book--it was so refreshing to read how the Fontaine family loved each other, whether it be tender love or "tough love" when one of them needed a change. It was so fun to read and hard to put down. I love how Wick has designed and written this series (Rocky Mountain Memories)--all the books are somehow intertwined, yet independently storied. This makes for very interesting reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where the Wild Rose Blooms, March 24, 2000

This book takes place during the late 19th century in what was then called Colorado Territory. It tells of a girl named Jackie and her interaction with a young man named Clay. It is a wonderful, wholesome story. I would recommend it to anyone. Lori Wick has a extraordinary flair for writing, and this is one of my favorite books that she has written.

This book was one of the best that I have read. I keep going back to read portions over and over again because I cannot get enough. She is one of the best. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I could not put it down.
