Editorial Reviews

Review

"Author Victor Schlatter has accomplished a very commendable endeavor by writing on the subject of Israel, the Jewish people, and the Church in this book. He clearly makes his case that the Jew and the non-Jewish Christian is 'of one family growing together... of two olive trees grafted into one, waiting for their Lord to appear.' His insight into the meaning of the 'mystery' mentioned by St. Paul in his letters to the Romans and the Ephesians, clarifies the 'secret' of how the believing Jew and Gentile come to be part of the Kingdom of God. The Body has two parts or two identical halves - what an honor to be part of one of those halves! Our appreciation to Mr. Schlatter for working through this theological and historical issue, especially as it relates to the modern Jewish State of Israel." -- George Giacumakis, Ph.D., Professor of History, Director of Mission Viejo Campus, California State University, Fullerton; Chairman of the Board, International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem

"This book will not be comfortable reading for many in the Christian church; it challenges a whole number of widely held ideas that have no source in either the Old or New Testaments, but arise from Christianized Hellenism. It therefor needs to be read thoughtfully and prayerfully. Victor Schlatter has done us all a very real service in writing it." -- Lance Lambert, speaker, lecturer, teacher on Israel

Product Description

Where Is the Body? takes a fresh look at the Church's relationship to Israel and the Jewish people, which is a must in these days when Bible prophecy needs a proper anchor to keep it from fling off into the realm of fantasy. Today, many are reassessing this relationship in the light of the reality of the regathered Israel, Christians rediscovering their 'Jewish roots' and Christian and Jewish scholars studying the Bible together -- including the New Testament and the words of Jesus. Is this not what God intended from the beginning? This book rightly divides the Word of God to bring insight into Paul's words to the Ephesians concerning Jews and Gentiles, 'For He Himself [Jesus] is our peace, who has made the two one...to create in Himself one new man...thus making peace' (Eph. 2:14-15).

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book available to understand Israel and Christians., November 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Where Is the Body? (Paperback)
This book was one of the very best books I've read which contains truths about what happened historically to those who walked with God and those that merely said they did. In this book Victor Schlatter has given us a picture of what has taken place in Israel and in Rome, then the world. He was able to paint the details of our identity as those that love and follow a Jewish Messiah and he bestowed upon us a strong frame of reference to look out of. Please get this book out to as many as you can and lets see people set free from lots of dogma made up by man and customs which bind those that love God.

By A Customer
This review is from: Where Is the Body? (Paperback)
Vic's words have unravelled what the christian religion is supposed to be and how it should fit alongside our Jewish faith. This has shattered some of the myths of the christian religions and how and where they stand with Judaism. The truth in this book is almost frighteningly startling! Congratulations and thank you for your timely revelations! An absolute MUST in the search for truth!
