Where is THAT Boots!,
This review is from: Where Is Boots?: A Lift-the-Flap Story (Dora the Explorer) (Paperback)
This is a nice, playful little book BUT HONESTLY I can't imagine reading it to my five year-old, much less an eight year-old. I truly think the age range would be better if it said: from 5 months to 3 years of age.
In this book, Dora and Boots are playing Hide and Seek and when they were little, my two loved it. (They are 3 and 5 now). The fun part of the plot was that you are looking for Boot's red boots and behind each flap (1 flap per every 2 pages) is something red. Is it Boots? No, it's red but it is a flower. Or a ball... or King Crab.... My kids loved that it wasn't Boots but something else. As children get slightly older you can spruce up the action by introducing a few of the 11 Spanish words that are listed. A pronunciation guide for the Spanish vocabulary is in the front. The words follow: Hola, Una, Flor, Roja, Pelota, Mariposa, Un, Sombrero, Rojo, Lo hicimos, Adios. (Nothing intimidating here.) Five Stars. Good Price, Fun Book with Some Educational Elements.

Where is Boots?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Where Is Boots?: A Lift-the-Flap Story (Dora the Explorer) (Paperback)
This was my daughter's first Dora book, which we received as a gift for her first birthday, before either of us even knew who "Dora" is. My daughter fell in love with it and at 22 months, still asks to read it at times. She is now a big Dora fan. Basically, Dora is playing hide and seek with her best friend, "Boots," and on each page there is a flap to lift to see if he is there or not. I give it a 5 based on her enjoyment of it over the months.

Lift the flaps are wonderful!!,
By Indy SLP (Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Where Is Boots?: A Lift-the-Flap Story (Dora the Explorer) (Paperback)
I took this to read to a group of 3-5 year olds and they loved trying to find something red on each page and then getting to lift the flaps to find out what was hiding! It really keeps them entertained and gets them interacting with you. The story is cute and the pictures are great! The only thing I didn't like was the use of Spanish so I tried to skip over those parts. I was worried the kids would get confused by the words and just stop at that part to try to figure out what I had said instead of listening to the rest of the story. But all in all I think it's a great book for anyone that's heard of Dora!
