This book is wonderful. I teach 1st grade and this book was able to give my students a perspective about where they live starting with their room and expanding to the U.S. We were able to make a flow map out of the information which gave my visual learners and ELL's another way of remembering this information. We tied it all in to learning our address and family history. A great book totally for classroom use.

My big guy is in Kindergarten and is learning about the continents, so I wanted to go a step further and show him why we have maps. We camp often and he sees me pouring over maps to decide our next days activities, but my maps are extensive and confusing for most people.

Enter "Where Do I Live?" where the first two pages are about a girl that draws a map of her bedroom. I see in his face HE GETS IT! Being very inquisitive he asked question after question about the books contents and maps in general. You could read the book in 10 minutes, but it took well over an hour to go through it the first time. A very simple yet perfect book!

During our study of the Solar System, this book really held my students attention. It made them view where we 'live' in a different way.

It is clear, concise and fun for my students. They got the idea quickly and helped them to learn the concept of where they live.
