In my opinion, this is the best album that Michael Damian ever recorded in his career. "Rock On" was the #1 single on the Billboard charts in June 1989. Michael also released the follow-up single, "Was It Nothing At All" which won a BMI songwriting award. This album is rare and out-of-print, but definitely worth getting.

I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because some of the song is on his new Rock On. I love Heartbreak Monday. I feel that some of the songs should've be on MP3 songs.The CD's is amazing I found it a couple of years ago.

This is a cd I've been thinking about getting recently. I had the tape till I wore it out. It's one I wanted to add. So I did. It's an excellent cd. I enjoy all the songs. And it's in excellent shape for being used.

where do we go from here is a rare treat.michael damiian made a very special album. his remake of rock on was a #1 hit. his next single cover of love hit #31. was it nothing at all went to #24. a question of time,my mistake,straight from my heart,heartbreak monday,and turn from my love are other good songs. while he was on the charts,michael damian appeared on the young and the restless. i highly recomend this album to you. ed wilson

Was It Nothing At All is the best song ever! Brings back happy memories of being a teen, love it!

This is Michael's first cd and what can I say that hasn't already done been said except that it's an great cd and if you like the song Rock ON well this is cd that you will find it on so grab an copy.

***Hello, I would like to start by saying I have never watched "The Young And The Restless" or any other movie or show this person has been in, and am reviewing as a music fan only! Ok, that being said, below is my review of "Where We Go From Here" by Michael Damian.***

This soap star seems to have a decent amount of vocal talent and is more proficient of a vocalist than many I see today*cough*anyrapperwhoeverlivedprettymuch*cough* and has a likability in his voice in songs, such as his 1988 hit cover of David Essex's classic "Rock On", and is exuberant on his other (albeit minor)hit, "Cover of Love".

True, this album has flaws, which in my opinion is the misery-inducing and depressing "A Touch Of Grey" which I just skip over when I listen to this CD anyway (which is a great workout album otherwise, by the way), which is so awful for me personally that I deducted two stars for it alone, but I'm sure there are people who enjoyed it, so to to each their own.

As this album is from 1989, it IS a bit dated and sounds like what it is: an 80's pop album, so be warned that if you do not like summery, danceable pop songs and artists like Rick Astley and Paul Young in the 1980's, you will not enjoy this, this was not made for you anyway.

Well, this has been my quickie review of why I enjoyed this CD and it hope it has been helpful to you, and as always this is my opinion and I'm sticking to it!

It's not a new phenomenon. Ever since Ricky Nelson, guys (and gals) of the silver screen and TV fame with a good smile and the right haircut parlayed it into an entre to the world of music. Sometimes this has revealed itself to be mere vanity (as anyone who's ever had the misfortune of hearing Don Johnson, Burt Reynolds, Bruce Willis, or Donnie "Ralph Malph" Most's albums can attest), in others truly great pop emerged (the Monkees and Ricky Nelson are the ones that spring to mind here).

So it was with expectation of sniggering and relish at the thought of sharpening my reviewing claws that I came to this album of my wife's by Young and the Restless soap opera star Michael Damian. Imagine my surprise when it wasn't the complete festering pile of excrement I expected.

Don't get me wrong: I am NOT going to give this a solid recommendation. There's way too much here that's rote, cliched, and derivative for it to be worthy of serious attention by discerning musical listeners. However, it does stand alongside much of 80s pop music fairly well and that's a pretty good accomplishment for someone who was doing it as a "2nd gig". That he managed to get a hit with a self-penned tune ("Was it Nothing at All?" also won a BMI Songwriting Award.) was nothing short of a miracle.

HIGHLIGHTS:
The update of 70s hit "Rock On" blows the Essex original out of the water, if only for the reason that it leaves off the strings. It remains a trashy guilty pleasure everytime it comes on the "80s,90s,Now" station. "Heartbreak Monday" is the shoulda been hit with a pretty catchy hook if not a great lyric. ("A heartbreak on Monday, you cried away all Sunday/And I don't want to see you hurt anymore") Damian's chasing the girl who always likes the "bad boy" there.

LOWS:
"Turn from my Love" has it all: wretched tin can digi-drum, painful "ooh ooh" wailing from Damian on the intro, Casio special shrill keyboard, and lyrical gems like "Oh, if you love someone/you will know the feelings/I have for you". Remember that song Donnie Wahlberg's character sings in the movie BOOGIE NIGHTS? Yeah, it's THAT bad. "Was it Nothing at All?" isn't any worse than many other syrupy, melodramatic pop ballads in the 80s (The Jets "You Got it All" anyone?) but it sure ain't songwriting award material.

BOTTOM LINE:
Only the unrepentently nostalgic will have to own it, but I must admit it wasn't the absolute trainwreck I feared it would be.
