Collision of Fear and Faith,
By
This review is from: Where Fear & Faith Collide (Audio CD)
I bought the cd after seeing Michael Olson performance of "OUR FIRST LOVE" at a Michael W. Smith concert. WOW, that song makes you reflect on God in such a way, it touches your heart!!! That song stays with you because it brings you to the point where you remember that God is always first in your life and you remember when you turned everything over to God. I am totally impressed with the passion Michael Olson has displayed for God in his songs. I enjoyed this cd greatly and would encourage anyone who wants to hear a fresh new sound and devotion to God to purchase this cd. It is worth it.

This is exactly the reason why I love Christian music. The songs have their own unique tempo, their passionate roots, their trustworthy message. The music, all the instruments, work together splendidly to bring about an album of praise and love to God, to Christ. Something that you can feel with each song you listen to. The album starts off with the radio played "On the Third Day." This is a song that is not only enjoyable to listen to just for the instruments, but the message hits home and helps to invigorate you. Another song that I can't help but listen to again and again is "Unchanged." Again, this song does a great job to produce a worshiping passion in your heart and soul and mind. I highly suggest that, if you want to hear great Christian music, you pick this album up and keep it playing.

Pretty Good,
This review is from: Where Fear & Faith Collide (Audio CD)
I have to agree with Mark a little. I am conflicted. Michael shows real promise. Some of the songs I loved the first time I listened to them (like 'On The Third Day' and 'God Is With Us'. Others took listening to a dozen times but then I liked them a lot. But many of the songs didn't do anything for me at all. I think the album is worth buying just for the few really good songs it does have. But I wish it had more of them.
I think of Michael Olsen as a mix between Chris Tomlin and Matthew West. He can write some very nice upbeat stuff like Matthew west. But most of the music on this album is more mellow like Chris Tomlin.
