This is a great visual tour of the bible. It gives you the experience of being there. It enhances the written word and makes it come alive. I recommend this CD to anyone who loves to read the written word of God.

Looks a little old, but otherwise great,

This is definitely the product of an older time, when Macromedia QuickTime documents were all the rage, and 640x480 was an acceptable screen resolution, and no one minded the artefacts left in a music or sound file. However, that doesn't remove any of the joy and wonder one gets from wandering the Holy Land, seeing the churches and places Christ would have walked 2000 years ago. True, it looks a lot different from 2000 years ago. But this presentation of the popular landmarks of Jerusalem and the surrounding Israelite countryside is spectacular. Always playing in the background are Christian hymns and songs and probably excerpts of liturgies from around the world including "Vals del camino" (a Spanish song), "Blazhen Muzh" (A Russian version of Psalm 1), and many others. They're not as pristine and crystal clear as most of us would like, but they are still lovely. Yes, the technology level of this presentation is a bit dated. Yes it's not perfect and pristine like so many of the things we're used to. But it's still amazingly... spiritual. I ran this on an XP; I can't speak for 64-bit machines or anything newer than XP. But if you have any version of QuickTime 5 or above it ought to work just fine. |
