1.0 out of 5 stars love in disguise?, January 5, 2007

This review is from: Where The Heart Lead (Harlequin Historical) (Paperback)
Synopsis from back of book:
Two lovers, whom nothing short of death could part. She was young, lovely and innocent, and her life was governed by the conventions of Portuguese nobility. But high-spirited Nathalia longed for freedom, for excitement, for love. Then the English daredevil Adam Sorrell rode into her village. Recklessly, Nathalia risked everything for a night with the handsome major. But the consequences were more than she had bargained for! Humiliated and rejected, Nathalia was forced into disguise, into servitude and into the very teeth of battle to prove her love and claim her husband.

Personal commentary:
I don't know what the synopsis is talking about when it says Nathalia was `forced' into disguise. It was all her idiotic idea to get her husband back for his rejection/get him to fall in love with her since she loved him. Given her meager disguise, it is very telling regarding the heroine's mental capacity to think she could fool the hero no matter how briefly they had known each other. Highly recommend against this one.
