Book Description

In Japan, they say there's a red thread of fate that binds people who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. It may tangle, it may knot, it may stretch or fray, but it will never break. It is a future as indelible as the past.

I hope that isn't true. I pity anyone destined to meet me.

For Bianca Ray, the past is always catching up, one way or another. Now in her third semester at college, it's doing it again. Too much drinking has led to plummeting grades and rising absences, putting her scholarships in peril. When she makes it clear that she needs help--all over the floor of her history class--she's given one last chance to shape up: seek therapy and bring her grades up by the end of the semester, or she's out.

Enter Catholic seminarian Daniel McGuire. The last thing Bianca wants is an aspiring priest to counsel her on how to live her life, but the handsome graduate student is different from the holy rollers she fled from at home. Gentle and unobtrusive, he helps her pick up the pieces and find a new way to live: not running from the past, but facing it head on.

But opening up her heart to release the pain means that something else can come in. As Bianca and Daniel grow closer, their relationship moves onto dangerous ground. When they finally cross the line, the fragile courage Bianca has built up threatens to fail her. Can she exorcise the ghosts of her past, or will they catch hold and drag her down where not even Daniel can reach her?

Editorial Reviews

I loved every second of this book. I couldn't put it down. Andra Brynn made me feel about every emotion out there and I absolutely cannot recommended this book enough. So if you want to read a good book, not a good YA or a good NA or a good adult book, just plain and simple, an amazingly crafted story, then read Where I End and You Begin.

I know I already said this, but it was just a beautiful story. I wish there was more to it, that it didn't end. Also, and I think this is one of the first times I've thought this, I wish I had a physical copy [...] I suggest everyone read this asap.
--Brianna C,

An intensely provocative, deeply emotional story that will rock you to your core.
--Miss Construed,

From the Author

This was a book that I've been meaning to write since 2009, when I finally came to terms with my own traumatic event in my past. I'd never read a book that accurately captured the feeling of being truly traumatized by this particular event, so I had to write one. Four years later I am finally able to offer this book of my heart to you, and to all other survivors of an event similar to the one that shaped both me and the heroine of the novel, Bianca. To those survivors, I hope this book helps you find some words to express your own pain, and to find just a little catharsis between the pages.
All my love,

5.0 out of 5 stars An unique reading experiencing. July 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In "Where I end and You Begin" we meet Bianca, a young woman filled with emotional demons and drowning her pain in alcohol, partying, and sex with men she barely knows only to feel ashamed and embarrassed about it the next day. After a humiliating experience in her Holocaust class, the young teacher who had stepped in for the day calls her out on her behavior and reports her to the Dean while offering his support and counselling if she needs it. She resists his help at first, but upon hitting rock bottom she seeks out his assistance. As their bond gets stronger so do their feelings towards each other and they find themselves fighting urges that could put their newfound friendship in danger.

The writing in this story is very smooth. The author does a good job of pulling the reader into the story and having you root for the unlikely heroine. With most NA I've read recently, it seems to be the woman is trying to save the hero, or there is a rock star or billionaire involved. This is a refreshing change. If you're looking for a well-written, page turning book that is a refreshing break from the norm, then I recommend giving this one a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars I found a haunting gem with this one! June 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I am totally fascinated with novels that reach inside me and stir up my emotions. Bringing flashes of my own past into focus again. The loves, the loss, the trials that have formed me into the being that I am.

These novels are rare, gems buried in the depths of electronic words and hidden, not intentionally, but obscured by the endless supply of predicable works that cause me to fall asleep prematurely.

Where I End and You Begin kept me up until 4 am in the morning. I was once told that a great author always leaves a piece of their heart and soul in their novels. I feel after finishing this book that I left a piece of my own soul scattered on the pages along with the heroine.

I want to rant over how many parts of this novel I highlighted and how the tears flowed openly over heart-touching moments and some that almost ripped me to shreds. Not everyone will be able to appreciate and love this book as I do, although everyone should have the pleasure of reading this one.

Andra Brynn wrote something here that is more than a story, a ride, or an adventure. She confessed, released, and purged into the story a distinguished and enduring creation that is timeless.

I love stories that opens your soul and then clings to your heart... this one will haunt me for years to come.

So, as a published author myself, I do not approach such a dark threshold. I have admiration for any author that does so. Andra Brynn, consider this a Standing Ovation, Bravo!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best NA book June 30, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Seriously, this is probably the best new adult romance out there right now. With tons of emotional tension and the best friendship-turned-romance I've read in a while, it managed to make me laugh and cry within pages. Bianca is one of my favorite unlikely heroines. Awesome!!

Definitely try this out, this book's ending is soooooo worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for a reader with a brain August 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I have read a lot of books lately about people finding love after overcoming pain, but this one was different because it focused more on the main characters dealing with their inner demons rather than just romance, angst and sex. The author's style of writing is very intelligent and complex. It is dark and serious, and and requires the reader's full attention. I think she did a great job of keeping the plot engaging and the twists were very surprising and unexpected. There were some points where I felt a little overwhelmed by the intensity and darkness of this book, but once the pieces fell into place at the end, it all made sense and I was happy to see the characters get their HEA. Overall, this was a very mentally challenging book and one that keeps you thinking long after you've finished the last page. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to take a break from the fluff and read something smart and serious.

5.0 out of 5 stars A story that will stay with you August 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a beautiful and oddly realistic story about a ghost of a girl falling in love and accepting herself before learning to let others love her. I found the story captivating and the female lead a refreshing change from the typical sappy female. No Meg Ryan here. The writing was superb; the "other" chapters offered a unique perspective on Bianca's true state of mind instead of the image she tries to project. This book helped remind me to really look at the people around me.

It's a ghost story... kind of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome NA July 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this book after seeing people talk about it on Goodreads, and I love it. Wow - talk about emotional. I wasn't sure I'd believe the romance angle given the characters' backgrounds, but it ended up really, really sweet. If you like college romance, you won't go wrong here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! August 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a well written and lovely book. On the surface it's people going through old abandoned buildings and ghost stories, but wait, but's a tapestry of woven words that call to your soul. It's romantic and sad and so much more. This story will stay with you and when you finally finish it at 2:45 in the morning, you will go back through the book to find the ghost stories and read them again.

I loved this book.
