Considering that the Nineties are half over, predicting the hottest careers for that decade does not require a crystal ball, but Hadley presents her predictions in a highly effective format. The introduction and first two chapters update job-search information with a good discussion of electronic resumes and significant changes in strategy for the new world of work. Then, using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the author highlights 15 industries covering growth, industry snapshots, trends, education and training, earnings, and career paths. Although the information about each industry is at times overly generic, Hadley provides resource lists for each area that include leading companies, professional associations, and trade publications for further research. For each industry discussed, there is an excellent section on tips for breaking in, which range from useful to clever. A valuable resource at a good price; recommended for career collections.
