Magnificent country homes and towns such as Easton, Oxford, and St. Michael's are among the nearly 500 sites included... Outstanding examples of Georgian and federal buildings found in the county best known for its orientation to the water.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very unique read July 12, 2010
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a unique, reference-type architectural history of Talbot County, Maryland. Because it is not an academic study per se, it is suitable for general audiences. To his credit, Weeks includes an abundance of photographic images of his subjects. The book is quite precisely focused on Talbot County and thus will be of greatest interest to those with a historical tie to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It may also be of broader interest to historians of the mid-Atlantic region or architectural enthusiasts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting February 22, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I had been looking at it for geneological purposes (Lloyd family history and their home and property, family background), and it did not dissapoint me. It was very interesting, and informative, integrating family histories with the properties and land.

This is a great overview of the many treasures of Talbot County Maryland. Good history, good maps, great information. Might be a great gift for someone just moving into Talbot County or anywhere near the Chesapeake Bay.
