Book Description

0964038803 978-0964038806 March 1994 1st
When Bill Clinton took the White House, the most populous, coddled generation in history came to power. But hidden in the midst of this talented, ambitious group lay a dark sidethe legacy of violent antiwar protest in the name of peace, of racial manipulation in the name of civil rights and the raw quest for power by its leaders. Out of the 1960's came what was simply called The Movement. Most of its real leaders have turned their backs on the misplaced philosophy that has brought AMerica to wholesale drug addiction, an underclass of fatherless children, gang warfare and seething racial hatred. Where Liberals Go To Die tells in simple language how the mightiest culture the world has ever known stands on the brink of failure. It is also a handbook, a survival manual that can turn America from a generation of victims and slackers to a nation of survivors. Where Liberals Go To Die will change your life. The America you see will never look the same. (Back cover copy.)

About the Author

Jim Evans' history reads like a 1960's rap sheet. Campus radical leader, student strike organizer . . . from the chaos of the 1968 Chicago Democratic Convention to the violence of the so called "Free Speech Movement" at Berkely. From the seizure of university administration buildings to the Federales firing on unarmed Mexican students. And finally to Prague in August 1969 when the tanks rolled back in. Today, Evans is a Houston lawyer, Republican strategist and draft board chairman. Where Liberals Go To Die is the story of Evans' rebirth as a fully-recovered liberal. (Back cover copy.) Evans has served as chairman of a deep-sea diving equipment and hyperbaric medical equipment company, president of an emergency medical company, co-founder, vice-chairman and general counsel of a nationwide telecommunications company and is currently chairman and general counsel of a medical equipment company. He is a director of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture (David Horowitz' "Second Thoughts" conservative action organization in Los Angeles) and the Houston Read Commission/Mayor's Commission on Adult Literacy. He is the Chairman of the Education Committee of the Harris County (Houston) Republican Party, and is a director of Putting Children First (Texas largest pro-voucher organization) and the American Miracle Foundation (tax reform organization). His new book, EduCrisis! What To Do When Public Schools Fail will be available in August 1999.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!, July 29, 1998

This review is from: Where Liberals Go to Die: The End of Let's Pretend (Paperback)
Mr. Evans' book is the equivalent of Jeff Bagwell knocking a curve ball over the center field fence. Being a recovered liberal, he cuts to the chase of what he calls "The Movement". It points out what we bigoted, homophobic, intolerant consevatives/libertarians have thought and intuitively known all along. That liberals a.k.a. socialists are really nothing more than a bunch of spoiled, intolerant, fascist, arrogant, ill mannered, undisciplined, sniveling brats. It's nice to know that we're really not insane. They are.

As great as the W.W.II generation was, they did the nation a big disservice by never disciplining these punks and by spoiling them rotten. Now, we've got the Clintonistas in the White House, and people wonder how it happened.

What should have happened during the sixties, when the sniveling snots were protesting this or that, was the the deans should have had them arrested, expelled and sent home to Mommy & Daddy and had them spanked! and put to be without any dinner.

Way to go James. This book goes along very well with Thomas Sowell's "The Vision of the Anointed".

4.0 out of 5 stars The answer to many questions, December 17, 1999
This review is from: Where Liberals Go to Die: The End of Let's Pretend (Paperback)
You must read Where Liberals Go to Die if you want to find out where the current crop of liberal elite politicians, media wonks, and talking heads come from.

The media with much fan fare and airtime has greeted the current wave of tell-all books about the Clintons. All of these books try to find the "inner" Hillary or Bill, what shaped their lives and how they became the people they are today. For the whole story you need only to read Where Liberals Go to Die.

James Evans takes us inside the campus radical's mind (the Movement) and shows it to be no different then the so-called enemy. The only difference is that so-called enemy has power and the campus radical wants it. Mr. Evans takes the reader through journey of "let's pretend" where outcomes are meaningless, only intentions should be judged. In the minds of the liberals, according to Mr. Evans, if an outcome is accidentally achieved points are taken away.

Where Liberals Go to Die is a must read for any conservative and a great gift to any liberal.

This review is from: Where Liberals Go to Die: The End of Let's Pretend (Paperback)
Mr. Evans presents a simple and clear analysis of our country's current problems with concrete ideas on how to fix them. He presents his case in an objective and unbiased way, with good humor thrown in. Easy to read and understand. The best book on the subject I have ever read.
