This review is from: Where the Red Fern Grows (Literature Circle Guides, Grades 4-8) (Paperback)
I'm using this literature response guide with my GATE 3rd and 4th graders. They are having a great time answering the discussion questions in small groups. I like how for each section of 2-3 chapters it provides a set of questions for group discussion and a list of choices for a personal written response. My students are having interesting talks because the questions are very thought-provoking but not too difficult. I also like their tips for managing small groups and the accountability chart for each group. I would definitely buy another guide from this series.

This review is from: Where the Red Fern Grows (Literature Circle Guides, Grades 4-8) (Paperback)
After I read this book, I couldn't believe it. After all the exciting chapters, it has to end up in a sad way when the dogs die. Its funny how that all stories don't end in with a happy ending. I loved this book even after I read it ten times. Thats how good it really is!!! Its just unbelieveable how great this story of a boy and his two dogs. So far, this is my favorite book I've read so far. But I'm still looking forward to reading Wilson Rawls latest book. But I'll always remember Were The Red Fern Grows!!!
