A Rap Song With Soul,
By Kali "bengaligirl" (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews

I liked this song.I liked the lyrics. I liked the way it was sung. I liked the way the video was done. Very impactive. This is a great song. For starters the lyrics have meaning. Some of the garbage we are listening to right now has no meaning, therefore it has no impact on the senses, don't get me wrong there is some good stuff out but there is also a load of rubbish, and there is only so much rubbish that your ears can take, well that's how I feel anyway! This is a beautiful song and worth listening to. Ten out of ten in my opinion.

'Where is the love?',

This tune is not only catchy, but has a whole lot of truth in it, which makes me wonder why more artists don't try and follow in their footsteps. In my opinion, this song is brilliant, but I just hope that Black Eyed Peas can keep up this standard.

I'm not even a fan of the general rap genre, but the song "Where is the Love?" really caught me & held me from the opening to the end. I love it. I don't care for the rest of the cd.

A modern day anthem...,

The title song, "Where is the Love?", contains the most powerful message I have heard in a song in a very long time. It tells it like it is and doesn't sugar-coat the description of what our world has truly become. The lyrics are sad and true, yet inspiring. Maybe one day we'll find the answer to the question...let's hope.

1st time I heard this song, I just sat mesmerized at the end of the seat. A truly great beat, and how could someone be so eloquent in their description of the state of the world. The second time, a tear welled as I understood the true depth of their insite. This is truly a great song, if for no other reason it makes you think - where is the love?

one of those Songs that sneaks into a Big Hit without anyone paying much attention.this Song reminds me of a Song Coolio had out a few years ago.Justin Timberlake still trying hard hard at dropping a Michael Jackson like Vocal part.one of those songs that just kinda stayed around.

Socially conscious, but is it sincere?,

The Black-Eyed Peas are a rap group that has been around a few years and has produced a handful of albums without ever really achieving any kind mainstream success. Well, for there most recent album "Elephunk", which has spawned their hit single "Where is the Love?", the Peas have taken some steps to attain wider mainstream appeal. They've signed on with darling of entertainment magazines everywhere, Justin Timberlake, to produced some of their album and participate in a song or two. This is a questionable move that seems designed merely to take advantage of Timberlake's current sweeping popularity in the pop and hip-hop industries. Timberlake's popularity will soon fade and it may not prove to have been a smart decision to attach the Peas to him. The second move they made was adding another member to appeal to a broader audience... an attractive ghetto girl named Fergie. Sure, she's attractive to look at, but she is questionably talented, as proven by a recent late-night talk show appearance where here voice could not be masked and enhanced by a studio mixer and showed itself to toneless and unremarkable. The third step they took was to produce one of those socially conscious songs that get lots of play on MTV and VH1, get lauded by parental groups, and guarantee an appearance on (a talk show). The question about this socially conscious song, "Where is the Love?" is whether or not the sentiments are truly sincere by the artists, or was this just a designed break from there regular style just to get a single hit. The male members of Black-Eyed Peas have distinctive voices, including one member who sounds like the reincarnation of Notorious B.I.G., and that helps the song. Listening to lyrics will reveals legitimate thoughts as social commentary. The song is catchy and good to listen to. Time will tell if this song has some degree of staying power and provides the impetus to make the Peas a greater mainstream success. Still, it is hard to get past the feeling that they are not being true to their musical style by producing this song. Time will tell.

This song is so good. It's telling a true sory and I so feel for the people having to go through with this pain every day. Not only the concept of the song is good, but the tune, words, rapping, vocals (Justin's) and video all hit the top spot. This is great stuff, so BEPs, keep it up. People, Where is the Love?
