Can't Put it Down,
By
This review is from: Where Is Maisy?: A Lift-the-Flap Book (Board book)
My 16 month old son was not interested in sitting long enough for me to read him a book -- until this one. Not that it is lengthly, but he wants to repeat it indefinitely and finds it HILARIOUS. Now he's bringing me books all day, but this is his favorite. "Is Maisy in the boat?" I ask. "Naw!" he says, and laughs. The only problem is how to separate him from it.

KIds Love These Lift the Flap Books,

This review is from: Where Is Maisy?: A Lift-the-Flap Book (Board book)
If you are the parent of a young child, you probably know who Maisy is. She's a mouse with a duck, a squirrel, an elephant, and a crocodile for friends. Why the crocodile isn't trying to eat the others is beyond me, but that's life in Maisy's world. Both of my daughters love the Maisy books; there's something about their simple stories and colorful pictures that even appeals to adults. The books are short and easy to read. But, the stories are never obnoxiously simplistic, like so many other books for small children. This is a lift the flap book in which the childen are lifting flaps in search of Maisy. They find all of her friends before finally locating Maisy. That sneaky little mouse; hiding at the end of the book. One caution, the kids might get a little aggressive with the flaps and tear a few, resulting in the purchase of a new lift the flap book.

My 7 month daughter loves this book. She is someone that gets bored if she sees something more than once. But we read this book every morning, she always enjoys lifting the flaps.

This book is very simple, with repetitive text and bold brilliant Maisy colors, perfect for babies - my 7 month old loves the drawings and eagerly lifts all the flaps, with some help, as they're somewhat smallish (smaller than "where's Spot?"), though sturdy. I recommend it.

We love the lift the flap Maisy books, they are a fun way to get my daughter involved in the story and they keep her attention and excitment going from front to back. They have short and simple writing, cute characters, and colorful illustration. A nice, fun book.

This is my 13-month-old niece's favorite book. She has a lot of fun lifting the flaps and looking at what's behind them. And she always laughs when she finds Maisy in the end. The flaps get her so much more involved in this book than she is in many of her others. And she likes to read it over and over - both with others and by herself.

A hit for Two Year Old Twins,
By A Customer
This review is from: Where Is Maisy?: A Lift-the-Flap Book (Board book)
This was the first Maisy book I got for my twin girls. Starting at 18 months, they began enjoying the bright, colorful simple pictures in the book. Then they really got into lifting the flaps. Now, at two, they still love this book and other Maisy books I've purchased. They've read it dozens of times. I recommend it highly.

A Wonderful Book for Babies,

This is the first book I bought for my then 5-month old. I was familiar with Lucy Cousin's books from being a first grade teacher so I thought my baby would be attracted to Cousin's wonderful illustrations. I was right---he loves the book! Her simple illustrations hold his attention and her use of bold colors interests him. I have even found him looking at the words on the left-hand page. The lettering is large and bold and will be great for little ones just beginning to read. Today my baby is 7-months old and I am ordering several of Lucy Cousin's nursery rhyme books for him. Her books are the greatest!

My 1 year old son just got two Maisy books for his birthday. This book was one of them. It is amazing to see how much he loves this book. He brings it to us and makes us read it over and over and loves to lift the flaps. This has made bedtime stories much easier (since he is never still).
