Cousins's signature bold acrylic illustrations outlined in thick black lines depict familiar objects such as a bed, table, closet, and bathtub, all set against a solid white background. When they lift the sturdy flaps, children will find Maisy along with a squirrel, elephant, duck, and alligator all hiding under, inside, or behind these objects. With simple one-sentence questions, the second book invites readers to guess where Maisy lives by showing dwellings such as a henhouse, pigpen, doghouse, and stable. The appropriate animals are discovered underneath sturdy flaps: "Oink! The pigs live here" and "Arf! The dog lives here." The animal sounds and simple sentences are perfect for babies and toddlers, and the basic repetitive texts are suitable for sharing in lap-sit programs.

Lucy Cousins is the creator of many wonderful picture books for children, including Yummy: My Favourite Nursery Stories and Hooray for Fish! , as well as her bestselling books about Maisy the mouse. About I'm the Best, she says, "I had the idea for this book after winning a tennis competition. I loved telling all my friends and family about it, but then I realized that I was probably showing off, like Dog!" Lucy Cousins lives in Hampshire with her partner, four children and very fluffy dog.

These Maisy books are so colourful and have very simple pictures that are great for my 16 month old. It also has really bold brilliant colours to help toddlers learn their colours!

My daughter, the 2-year-old Maisy fan, has not been disappointed by this one. All of Maisy's friends are hiding, and somehow, she finds them all... including Maisy herself at the end!

This book was for my granddaughter. She loves Maisy and it is very hard to find books or DVDs in the stores. She was very happy to receive this book. It came quickly, in good condition and the best part for me was that there was no shipping charge.
