Poetry at its best,
By Melanie Votaw (Brooklyn, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Where Many Rivers Meet (Paperback)
I love all of David Whyte's poetry books, but this one, I believe, is my favorite. One of his earlier books, it is filled with poetry written from the "outside in". He usually begins with an experience in nature and then brings it to some internal universal insight that is always moving and beautiful, and often very educational. If you like Mary Oliver, David Whyte is a must read.

Pictures painted with words,
By
This review is from: Where Many Rivers Meet (Paperback)
Words about nature. Words that paint pictures in your mind. While reading, I feel as if I have an "inner eye" that was seeing the scene Whyte is writing about. Reading this book is like walking through a forest or an art gallery filled with paintings of nature. I can see, feel, smell and sense the scene Whyte's words paint. It's amazing how Whyte can touch your heart with his words.

Never gets old,
By William J. Eberle (Buckingham, VA, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Where Many Rivers Meet (Paperback)
We get together regularly to ascend to the outer stratosphere with music and poetry. Hafiz, Rumi, Kabir and Meera are our favorites. David Whyte is the only living poet who consistently makes it in. Need I say more?

Poems for Every Person,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Where Many Rivers Meet (Paperback)
This is my favorite book of poetry, and I own William Blake's book of poems. It's not that I don't like Blake. It's just that these book of poems reach me, and expresses something that I feel. I own the CD where he reads poems from this book. And he reads it in a way that I've adopted too. He repeats lines at appropriate times to dramatic effect. Great book and a great gift for a loved one.
