From the Publisher
This artist's monograph is a collection of landscapes by northern California painter, Jacques Levy. Beginning with an introduction by the artist himself which details the evolution of his work, the book takes the reader on a breathtaking tour of oil paintings, watercolors and drawings inspired by California's North Coast and spanning the years 1980-1998. The book is literally packed with reproductions: 42 color plates and 9 halftones in all.
From the Author
It gives me great satisfaction to present this collection of my work to the public in this form. Selections of reproductions were painstakingly culled from a large body of originals and great care was taken to show the development of work chronologically.
Anyone interested in how an artist's work grows and matures will be especially drawn to the introduction, which details early influences, color theory and process.
Above all, I should emphasize the passion and exaltation I've experienced producing many of these works, and my hope that the reader will share in that experience.
