About the Author

Mahogany Star was born and raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, NY in a working class single parent home. The child of a teenage parent, she was reared by her maternal grandmother. Although she spent most of her childhood living in the projects , she enjoyed her childhood growing up in Brooklyn. Always writing, keeping journals, and if you ask anyone who knows her, her sense of humor calls for a grand imagination. Mahogany loved school and excelled in her studies, but having good friends made school a fun place to be. Mahogany Star has been working in Healthcare Administration for 10 years and has moved up the corporate ladder, but has always known that writing was her passion. Mahogany Star holds a B.S. in Organizational Management, and has placed on hold her pursuit of her Master s of Science in Psychology. Mahogany Star is looking forward to putting forth a collection of urban novels that readers will find it hard to put down. Mahogany Star currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and two children. There was always something more career wise Mahogany Star has wanted out of life, the more is a chance to write and publish her work.

I normally am not a fan of Urban literature, but this book captures your attention from start to finish. I could not put it down. You can truly feel what the characters are going through. It was well written and we all seem to have or have known people in our lives similar to those in the book. You won't be disappointed. I am surprised that Oprah hasn't featured this writer yet in her book club!

AS this story unfolds,, you can slowly form in your mind the visuals of each girl. If you yourself are from the innercity or projects you can even se the characteristics of the characters of people you know. You feel connected to the story and slowly you are lulled in its trance. There are moments within the story that you can see where the next line or action will flow, however you cant put the book down. The charcters become a part of you and you long to return to the book to be a part of their lives once more. In two days you are finished and yaarning for the next phase....where secrets lie, will make you rethink evry secret you'e told and the ones YOU think nobody knows!! Get this book, it is worth reading!!!
