From the moment I began reading "Where Do We Go From Here", by Patricia Bonelli, I was captivated by her experiences and strength of her personality showing through.

Her story begins from her troubled home life with adoptive parents, to life on the street, to making changes to better herself.

Two-thirds of the book focused on her life experiences. From the begining of her experiences, to the end, her story captivated me. It was intense and compelling. You could feel the pain, anguish, and in the end determination to make her life better.

The last third was a reflection of her life, kids, career, and spiritual growth. Though less intense, her personality comes through to provide a open look into her life.

I took away two major points from the book. One, the importance of forgiveness and how important it is to be able to go in a forward direction in your life. The second, though never openly discussed, was how being completely honest would have made things much better for Bonelli.

This book is a good read and you will want to get through it in one sitting. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys memoirs.

I will never look at another prostitute, (not that I see that many that I know of), in the same way after reading Patricia Bonelli's revealing and inspirational story, of life on the streets. That she was able to turn her life around, raise 4 children, put herself through college and have a successful legitimate career should be motivational reading to those facing any of life's challenges regardless of how they got there. This is a fast, easy read and a good lesson in compassion, redemption and the power within. Great book club reading!

I first started reading this book, not knowing what I was getting into. It was recommended to me by a close friend.I was wondering, who is this person? And why do I want to read about HER life? As I began reading, I was able to relate many of my own personal feelings to the author's reflections after situations. As I continued reading, I was constantly thinking of others who could relate and try to understand themselves better if they were to read this as well. The personal narrative and reflection read swiftly, and allowed you to be put in the author's shoes and see situations in multiple lenses. The life and reflections of the author are astounding, jaw-dropping, and emotional. I highly recommend this literature to anyone who thinks they know themselves and everything around them, and those who know little at all.

This book is also great for those in law enforcement, public administration professions, or those aiming to be in any public position. It helps the reader see situations from "the other side" and be able to improve work tactics while helping to develop a greater good.

I purchased this book off of [...] last week. It was so compelling I got through it in under 3 hours! Could NOT put it down! I was able to relate to the character in the story and draw wisdom from the reflections. I just put in an order for two of my girlfriends and my dad who will all get something from this fabulous read.

Beautifully written story of a courageous woman's trials and tribulations dealing with the adversities that life can often through our way, embracing the good and the bad as "one", and like the fabled phoenix, being re-born to begin a new chapter of a most interesting life journey.

I have the pleasure of knowing Patricia for over eight years, and as I read the pages of her book, I recalled some of the situations as they happened at those moments, and though I was not aware of all of the details of the pain she was transcending, I do remember some of the challenges she was surpassing, and I remember thinking of her strength, and ever-evolving creativity that facilitated her becoming the person she is today. I feel blessed that she is part of my life and that I can call her a true friend.

After setting the content of Book 1 into print with its tremendous content, Book number 2 will be very interesting in the continuing adventures of Patricia Bonelli...

It's not often that a book has so many right answers to important questions one doesn't even think to ask!

Ms. Bonelli has demonstrated both guts AND glory for having dealt in a very positive (and thoroughly satisfying) way with things that would have/could have and HAVE flattened so many others.

To have infused the book with the grace of forgiveness, both for herself and for the others who might have done her in... well, I don't usually read a book with a highlighter in hand, for this one... I DID!

The book is actually a quick read... so much value in so little time. Whoever Patricia Bonelli is... she's amazing!
