Beyond Words, December 7, 2003
This review is from: Where There Is Life (Audio CD)
For me, this album is beyond words, but I'll try...
As one reviewer has already said, I would be a millionaire if I had a dollar for every time I listened to this album. If I am ever in need of cheering-up, or inspiration, all I have to do is put it on, and Luciano's smooth, soaring voice melts my burdens away. Reggae music is probably the closest thing I have to an organized religion, and this album is Holy scripture. This CD is so important to me that I have actually burned myself two back-up copies, just in case something should happen to the original!
It is my opinion that Luciano's message of brotherhood, reverence, joy, and righteousness is the most clear, uplifting, refreshing, and accessable message of ANY musical artist EVER. Many people say he is the next Bob Marley. I say he is the one and only Luciano. I have many friends and family who do not listen to reggae at all, but they are blown away when they hear his music. I strongly reccommend all of his albums, but in particular, "Where There Is Life," "A New Day," and "Serve Jah" are his most phenomenal so far.
As a side note, I have had the honor of meeting Luciano backstage after one of his AMAZING concerts, and I was so impressed with his humble nature, and willingness to sit and talk to one of his fans. He was truly put here on this earth to bring a message of faith and unity to the people, and I will be listening to that message until the day I die. I will leave you with the words he left me with. "Let Jah Light be seen in you always."

"Let Jah rise and the heathen scatter!", January 7, 1999

When I first heard this record back in '95 I liked it, but now since I have bought it again I love it even more. Luciano is roots music like it is truly meant to be. His message is one identical to that of the late Garnet Silk, love is the only answer. Bless Jah and give ises, Selassie I.

'Where There is Life' is an album that if I had a dollar for everytime I've played it, I would be a millionaire. Conscious and rightous verses fill every song from Luciano, making this album absolutely inspiring. Songs such as 'It's me again Jah', 'Lord give me strength', 'Your world and mine', 'He is my friend', and 'In this together' can elevate anyone from despair; and bring upliftment and positive vibrations to all the massive. Respect
