Ms. Little created great characters to accompany a GREAT story...WHERE THERE'S SMOKE is definitely on my top list and I strongly recommend this to all who love wonderful characters with strong and complete story lines!

The cover of this book steered me away for so long, but baby let me tell you it was great from cover to cover I loved it. Smoke was a trip and he got Anne to give it up. It was hilarious because he was eyeing her wondering where her bras were, lol. I loved it. It taught a valuable lesson that everyone has a past. Anne picked up her pieces and put her life together beautifully while raising a son alone. If you do not have this novel please grab it. It was wonderful and so different then the average street book. I wouldn't even call it street fiction. I'd just call it good!

Where There's Smoke by Terra Little is a cautionary tale about how what one does in the dark can come to the light. Or, more appropriately, when a person changes his life that does not mean people or situations from the past will not find them.

Alec Avery is now a professional, a teacher, who is doing well and giving back to his community. He is respectable and all that a black man should be. Especially, since he gave up a life of drug-dealing to better himself and his situation. He is doing everything right, so surely nothing can go wrong. That is true until he discovers that he just might be a father. Not only a father, but father to a teen son he did not know existed. Will Alec, or rather Smoke, the name he used when he was dealing drugs, really be a father? Or is the boy's mother, Anne, confused or manipulative, considering she is a former crack addict?

Ms Little does a good job of exploring the lives of people who were on different paths until they decided to change. She presents the characters and the situations realistically and allows the reader to know that change is more than a word, it involves action. I really enjoyed Where There's Smoke and recommend it to readers who enjoy well-told, realistic stories.

This book took me by surprise!!! I've had it for months. I thought it was some gangster street lit and I haven't been in the mood to read it. Well, this past weekend, I said, okay let me see what this book is all about since it received such great reviews on Amazon. OMG, totally not what I expected!!! There's no gangster, street lit at all. It's more of an Urban funny, witty, love, inspirational type novel. Yes, the cover definitely fooled me.

I fell in love with this novel immediately and laughed out loud many times!!! Terra Little did her thing in this novel. This book is definitely in my top 5 list of favorite books of all times. The author brought the characters to life!!!!

Job Well done! My only suggestion is to do a reprint and change the cover!!! The cover isn't suited for this masterpiece!

I loved the humor in this book between the mother and son. Zay is trying to find his place in life and is having a hard time picking friends. His mother Breanna summons his father Smoke for child support and the fireworks began. I was slow in buying this book, but wasted no time in purshasing the sequel. I loved this author. Keep writing and i will keep purchasing.

This book was off the chain!!! It was a fast read and the story was so believable. Ms Little you did your thing. I fell in love with smoke and Anne and I loved that he was able to be a father to Isaiah. I could not put the book down at all. It was that good

I truly enjoyed the read. This is my first read by Terra, and a great job she did with this read. Alec (Smoke) ,Anne (BreAnne),and their son Isaiah (Zay) have a great story to tell. Each character deals with denial in some sort of way, I rooted for each of them. The story mainly is about choices , unconditional Love , Family, realtionships, and forgiveness if you can get past the cover its defintley worth it. The ending is very satisfying.

What happens when one of the most powerful drug dealer changes the game by changing his life only to have skeletons from his past come tumbling out of the closet? Can this former kingpin focus on his future while putting the past behind him? Will he be forced to handle his business as a man and revisit some the very things that he ran from almost two decades ago? One thing is certain...Where There's Smoke...will answer all these questions and then some.

I loved the fact that the book was action packed and very detailed right from the beginning. I put myself into the story during certain situations to ask myself what I would do if it were me going through those sometimes hardcore issues. I would have liked to see the ending more detailed as my guess would have just been enthralled in my own imagination but overall I was very much interested in the story.

This is the best book I've read all Summer! It was a great story and the dialougue between the characters was hilarious. The exchanges between Anne and Smoke were priceless. Can't wait for the sequel!

Where There's Smoke is not only captivating...but author Terra Little makes you want to be in the pages. I am so going to miss these characters. The story line was a fresh breathe because this is not your typical romance novel. It is street, urban, love, soulful, and all that and more. Little writes about a man who discovers he has a son after sixteen years, and so not the typical stereo type of black men not taking care of their kids, the author depicts a life that seems to be on cloud nine. The man becomes the father he never knew he wanted to be and in the mist finds love in the person he least expects it. I could nto put this book down. From page one this book had me. I feel like I am back in the zone with good reads now, because this book was FIRE!...I am adding Terra Little to my list of favorite authors.
