5.0 out of 5 stars Where Two Worlds Touch, March 25, 2000

I have read this book a thousand time. The pages are getting dog-eared and the margins are full of notes. I was really hoping that Glorida Karpinski had written another soul revealing book. But it would be hard to top this fabulously insightfull exploration of the human experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aligning with God, regardless of our chosen path, October 22, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Where Two Worlds Touch: Spiritual Rites of Passage (Paperback)
Gloria Karpinski's "Where Two Worlds Touch" is the type of book that can lay in a corner, unnoticed, until the moment it is relavent, and then becomes a-smack-in-the-head revelation. The premise of the book is that, in order to really find the spiritual "truth" as an individual or regarding a specific aspect of our lives, we go through seven steps before we can fully integrate the concept into our being. The two worlds in the title refer to the material and the spiritual. In my opinion, the power of Karpinski's work is her ability to state without preaching and use examples from a variety of religious and scientific reference. Although based strongly on metaphysical theory, it is written in a manner that is "user friendly" to most mainstream Americans who follow a traditional religious path. The basis of love, goodness and the individual's own responsibility for taking positive steps is at once reassuring and very practical. This book may not be for everyone or at all points in our lives, but when it IS right, it will be an incredibly powerful tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you were to choose only one book to read....., November 1, 1999
By
This review is from: Where Two Worlds Touch: Spiritual Rites of Passage (Paperback)
I first read this book 5 years ago and it made so much sense of my then senseless world! I just re-read it this past week and was amazed to see how much of the wisdom in this book I had incorporated into my life, the positive affects it has had on me, and that there was more to learn that I did not get the first time around! You will want to read it again and again. This is a MUST HAVE book for anyone who wants to understand the turmoil in their life and how spiritual growth happens. I would also recommend it to those in healing practices and counsiling. A great gift!!! Yes... I want to see this book available again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inner Changes, March 17, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Where Two Worlds Touch: Spiritual Rites of Passage (Paperback)
For me, I have come to the conclusion after reading this wonderful book, that all I have to do is relax. Everything and everyone who are in my life are in it for a specific purpose. This book also helped me realize that the journey is just as important as the goal. I wish Gloria would write another book, she is a wonderful author. I hope she realizes how much she has helped so many people. Thankyou Gloria.

Life is change, so many of us are reticent even fearful of the thought of changes in our lives. Gloria's book treats the subject of change in a way that takes away any fear related to change -- makes the idea comfortable even palatable. It is a work that helps one to connect to the power resident in our soul. This is an important book...Why is it out of print?

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK TRUELY CHANGED MY LIFE!, August 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Where Two Worlds Touch: Spiritual Rites of Passage (Paperback)
I NEVER WOULD HAVE HAD THR COURAGE TO LEAVE MY HUSBAND OF 11 HORRIBLE YEARS IF IT HADN'T BEEN FOR THIS BOOK. I THINK IT WAS THROUGH MY THIRD READ DURING A VACATION HE AND I WERE ON THAT I FINALLY SAID, "OK, I CAN'T LIVE LIKE THIS ANYMORE, YOU (THE GODS) HANDLE IT." PREPARED FOR THE WORST (GLORIA CONSTANTLY EMPHASIS THAT IF YOU ASK FOR SOMETHING ALL HELL BREAKS THROUGH UNTIL YOU ARE TRUELY CAPABLE OF MAKING THE CHANGE)I MARCHED FORWARD. WHEN I GOT BACK TO WORK 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE GAVE ME A FLOWER EACH AND I REALIZED IT WAS A MESSAGE THAT THINGS WOULD BE OK, AND THEY WERE. I HONESTLY WONDER IF I'D STILL BE WITH HIM IF IT WASN'T FOR THIS BOOK AND I HONESTLY THINK I WOULD. I STRONGLY RECOMMED IT TO ANYONE WHO'S HAVE PROBLEMS AND/OR BLOCKS IN THEIR LIVES. I ACTUALLY LOOKED UP THE BOOK AT AMAZON AS I'M A PSYCHOLOGIST AND A WOMAN I AM WORKING WITH IS STARTING A GROUP ON SPIRITUALITY FOR PEOPLE RECOVERING FROM ADDICTION OF ANY TYPE AND IS HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME WITH THE 11TH STEP OF 12 STEP PROGRAMS, I WAS HOPING TO ORDER IT FOR HER BUT IT IS NOT IN STOCK AND WE ARE SUPPOSED TO CHECK BACK PERIODICALLY FOR IT. A MESSAGE TO AMAZON - PLEASE GET THIS IMPORTANT BOOK IN STOCK!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book changed my life's course, January 31, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Where Two Worlds Touch: Spiritual Rites of Passage (Paperback)
I found this magical book in the used books section of a bookstore, read it, and was transformed by its wisdom. I'll never part with it. God love you, Gloria! I wish you'd write another book, wherever you are... And to the reader who asks why this book is out of print, well, the other day I saw it in the metaphysical section of Borders and so wonder if it's been revived?

All life is change, but often we don't notice unless it is a change that is sudden, dramatic and/or traumatic. This book really opened up my mind as well as opened my eyes to the spiritual beauty of all of life. The more I read, the more I had to stop and think about what this book was saying to me. It made me think, reflect and expand my awareness of myself and the world(s) around me.
