This 14-inch version of Sipi with the red hair has everything Crocodile Creek's 8-inch model has, but in more fearsome proportions. Sipi, you may remember, was one of the beasts encountered by Max (hero of Maurice Sendak's tales) at the place where the wild things are. With her orange yarn locks, fluffy brown fur, white claw-like bird's feet, yellow eyes, and toothy grin, Sipi is easily imagined with her fellow wild things as "they roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws." Crocodile Creek has created a fine niche by producing quality stuffed creatures from favorite kids' books. Their characters from Where the Wild Things Are
are excellent examples of their craft. --Claire Dederer
