Editorial Reviews

Review

I received my first copy of Where Will You Find Your Star during my sophomore year at North Mesquite High School. My father used it as a guide to help me realize how to make my vision a reality. There were many things that I wanted to do with my life. We had many conversations; many vision related trips; and annual reviews of my plans and goals. Today, I have hone in on the profession that provides me the most joy and excitement. My parents, high school teachers and counselors, and college professors have been instrumental in helping me to reach my full potential. Where Will You Find Your Star enabled me to reach inside my thoughts and seek out those who had the knowledge. - Andrew R. From the Publisher

I guess the world is not perfect! No one ever said it would be. I guess life is a struggle. No one ever promised you an easy life. It doesn't matter whether we're rich or poor. It doesn't matter whether we're upper, middle, or lower class. It doesn't matter whether we're Black, White, Hispanic, Indian, or Asian. It doesn't matter whether we're male, female, tall, or short. The issue that surrounds us today is "You." What are you going to do with your life? When will you decide to step beyond the horizon and reach for a star? Life can be challenging, difficult, fun, disappointing, and the list goes on. But, life is what you make of it. Every person on earth must begin the journey of life. No one is excluded. But listen carefully! Life is not like the fantasy world of cable TV. Once you step beyond the comfort of home, it's no longer fantasy. It's reality and unlike the television set, it can't be turned off.

By now you can guess that I travel a lot. I've been around the world twice. I've enjoyed moments of comfort as well as moments of loneliness. Often, learning the language of every culture visited and getting lost in mist of a crowded marketplace. Yet, for all my travels it wasn't the scenic views or a claim to fame that I sought. It was the people. You see, I am a student of life.

I'm always looking for the moment when my knowledge and experience will take me to the point where the earth and the sky meet each day. If you take a moment to live and explore all that the world has to offer, you'll find that acquiring vision is not difficult. Actually, it's quite simple. Thoughts become visions. Visions become plans. Plans lead to possibilities. Possibilities become goals. Goals become opportunities.
