I found this film to be poignant and thought-provoking. It is a very real portrait of three fascinating individuals -- their struggles, their families, and their music. The voices in this film are authentic and original, capturing a slice of life you might otherwise never get to see. Absolutely stunning cinematography. At times humorous, at times heartbreaking -- it is a remarkable film.

Caught this documentary at a film festival in Chicago this Spring....What a compelling story of 3 very different men who find salvation and hope in their music! All three very personal and human stories found me wondering about these guys months afterwards. The film is so elegantly shot and edited. The stark, sometimes comical, rural imagery is set off surprising well by the honest, thoughtful lyrics and rhythmic hooks of the soundtrack. I'm so glad it's now available on DVD--this is a film that I'll want to watch again and again.
