A good fun book for any overwhelmed students, (junior or senior high school) who can't seem to get anything done. Those who never have enough time or can never locate relevant items in timely fashion, perhaps they are chronically late submitting projects or homework, maybe they can't keep friends because they forget dates or events. A comforting book, in the sense that the student will realize they are not alone in the world with their problems. Most behaviours are text book and all have solutions. There is a way to make more time to meet friends, finish projects, get more sleep, "find stuff" easily, create space and so on.
This is a simple 95 page, hard back, spiral book is approx 8 x 9 inches and 1/2 inch thick, Rounded corners. In other words hard wearing, easy to tote and toss about. It is divided into four color coded sections, pages are glossy (easy to wipe off) Chapters have stiff card section dividers, tabbed and labeled for easy access. Amusing and brightly colored cartoon drawings capture the concepts well. The first section (Lime Green) is "Getting Started" just 6 pages long. Large print easy to scan quickly. It consists of a quiz to identify four personality types A to D, and "organizing Quotient". This allows the person to identify their organizing profile by themselves. (Save a fortune on therapy) 2 paragraphs describe the nature of the personality, how to work with it and how to avoid the standard pitfalls. A type personality is the Perfectionist, the "all or nothing type" who procrastinates. B type: I have so much to do I am "going to bed - freaker outer" C Type: "My life is so full it ovefloweth and drowneth me". Overloader. D Type:" Highly ambitious yet somehow unproductive dreamer" Section 2 (Red) (15 pages)explains "School stuff" everything from Backpack organization, making a home base, filing systems, memory sticks for computers and general logistics. Section 3 (Turquoise Blue) (10 pages) is about "Time and activities" How to break things down into manageable chunks. Deal breakers, Dealing with deadlines, brain dumping, planners etc. section 4 (Orange),(9pages). Making space, mapping, Doubt boxes, use or lose, prioritizing etc. Back of the book has three card pages. 4 check lists and calendar. The information in this book will help students get a handle on things, I found some good tips in it for myself, a perfectionist in her 50's!

This book has helped me to the extreme. I used to be the kid that turns up in class with the math homework from last week when the teacher is asking for the essay on stonehenge. Which i forgot about becuase my planner gets washed off my hands every time i took a shower. This book outlines easy and practical strategies that allow you to take control of your backpack. Worth every penny.

Where's My Stuff?,

This review is from: Where's My Stuff?: The Ultimate Teen Organizing Guide (Spiral-bound)
The moment I put this book down, I wished that I had found it befor emy Senior year. "Where's My Stuff?" contains nearly every little bit of study and and organizational wisdom I've picked up throguh my high-school career, and it would have been helpful going into it with all that knowledge condensed in one book, whick I'm quite glad this book does. The practical, step-by-step instriuctions on how to organize class materials were incredibly helpful, and this book does a great job of preparing you to manage your time and your personla space. With its diagrams, charts, and overall utility, I would recommend "Where's My Stuff?" To anyone entering high-school. I'm definitely keeping it for college.

This review is from: Where's My Stuff?: The Ultimate Teen Organizing Guide (Spiral-bound)
I am messy, theres no denying it. My mom is always on my case about my room or the kitchen or the living room and so on. But as a high school student I have so many more IMPORTANT things to do than to spend my time trying to clean up my house, only to have it get messy again. This book had so many good ideas about how to be organized, not only at home, but at school too! Now my mom doesnt yell at me anymore, and I have more time to focus of my life. This book rocks!

Definitely Recommend this one!,
This review is from: Where's My Stuff?: The Ultimate Teen Organizing Guide (Spiral-bound)
This book actually came out in good time for me. It really helped me organize my room after just having it redone. also the fact that this book was able to help me organize my school stuff was good too. Junior year is kinda hectic as far school work and this book was able to help show that it's not as impossible to stay organized as it looks. I really enjoyed the great tips that this book gave also on how to organize your room. I actually took a day this weekend to Really organize my room the way that this suggested and so far it's working really well!!
Definitely recommend it for someone who thinks its just about impossible to get organized, much like myself! haha -Lisa, age 16, New York

Looking Forward to Fifth Grade!,

This review is from: Where's My Stuff?: The Ultimate Teen Organizing Guide (Spiral-bound)
My son Sam is going into fifth grade and was given this book as a gift. After reading it, this is what he wrote...
"Where's my stuff?" by Samantha Moss and Lesley Schwartz was so helpful to me as a student entering middle school. The chapter called "School Stuff" had so many great ideas to get organized for fifth grade. It showed you 3 ways to organize your papers and notes. The chapter also taught me how to organize my study space at home. In addition, it showed me how to use my backback and set up my locker. The tips in this chapter are sure to make my year GREAT! This is the ideal book for a child going into middle school!

I just LOVE this book!!. I have been teaching for almost a decade and continue to struggle teaching my 5th grade students how to organize themselves for school--I will most certainly use this fun, colorful and easy-to-read-and-understand book as a guide for my students AND for myself!!

Great for Teens - Not Adults,
This review is from: Where's My Stuff?: The Ultimate Teen Organizing Guide (Spiral-bound)
Last school year - my 13 year old daughter got a D in science due to lack of turning in homework. She has the brains, but not the organizing skills. A bought this book in hopes that she could pull it together. I read through the book before giving it to her and thought it was way too basic and simple to be of use to her, but gave it to her anyway. Surprising result was that she cleaned her room and her desk - not quite to my standards but close. She organized her desk and asked for some pocket folios to put her homework in. I know it was a result of reading this book. Too early to tell if it is a temporary thing or permanent, but encouraging so I'm satisfied. Gave three stars because it did seem basic to me - of course I'm over 40 so not the target audience for the book.
