Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Just under 8 inches square, this volume is bigger than most board books. That larger size gives more scope for the sturdy, die-cut flaps that make every double-page spread an interactive experience for toddlers and even babies who are able to grab them. The book’s title becomes a refrain for the short, rhyming text, encouraging kids to lift the flap and discover what’s hidden, beginning with “In this chair? / It’s a teddy bear! / But where’s my sweetie pie?” Bold and colorful, the simple forms that make up the digital illustrations show up clearly against the white backgrounds. Best of all, the image revealed by lifting the final flap is sure to bring a smile to both child and adult reader. As rewarding as a good game of peekaboo, this playful picture book will appeal to the same audience in the same way. Preschool-Grade 1. --Carolyn Phelan

Awesome book! I remember reading this book to my son when he was a few months old and into his toddler years. He LOVED it!! We got so much joy and many smiles out of reading it to him and seeing his reactions & smiles!! I buy it for all my friends who have babies, hoping they get the same joy from it.

My daughter was born in February, and this was given to us as a gift. It was her first favorite book. She loved all the flaps early on, and she loved the mirror too. Now that she's old enough to flip all of the flaps herself, she loves it even more. This is her go-to book, and she wants to read it again and again, even though she has about 60 other books. It's a great book.

My 20 month old loves this book. It has a nice rhyme and a mirror at the end. My daughter now points to herself when she pulls out the book and says "right here".

Ed Emberly does it again! This book is so cute that my 6 month old and 2 year old love it! Even the 5 year old likes it but pretends not to ;) This is a great anytime book.

This is my daughters favorite book. I read it to her from 4 months to about 12 months, she laughed every time we got to the end and saw her face in the mirror.
She had this habit of eating books, and some of the flaps are gone from literary enthusiasm. I purchased the book for my friends first baby.
This book will be in my daughters memory box to enjoy when she is older.

This is my grandchildren's favorite book! They have me read it over and over again but I don't mind because I love seeing their smiles when they see their selves in the mirror at the end.
