I bought this as a gift for my father for fathers day.
After reading all the reviews I thought I was getting this at a steal!

However, it's like a toy!

Most of its made out of plastic! right when you hold it.. it feels like a holloween sword you carry around.

I would return it, however there is a 15% restocking fee and i'm responsible to ship it back to them.

All in all I made a $30 mistake in purchasing this item, don't make the same mistake!

DONT BE MISLED BY THE REVIEWS!~

You DO NOT get the items portrayed in the pictures. NOTHING like it. First of all, the dragon on the sheaths are stickers, foil stickers (which just look tacky, if you're going to use a sticker, use one that isn't for a trading card or a trinket for a child). Not at all which is what is depicted/represented in the pictures. Secondly, the metal guard or w/e it's called on the tip of the sheaths did not come on mine. Yet again, another misrepresentation of what I was expecting on getting. Thirdly, the blade itself where it meets the hilt. The picture there, is very clever. The blade does not fully fit that metal fitting around it. there's a good 20% of space between the blade and the metal guard that wraps around it from the hilt, which just looks horrible. Now that I know, I can sort of make it out from the photo, but again, misleading the customer. Granted I only paid ~20 for them, so I did get what I paid for, I doubt these things ever went for $100, probably yet another sleight of hand type trick from the seller to give the illusion of some type of quality. For $20 you do get what you pay for, so I guess I can't be too angry, but I bought them with the expectation of getting something similar to the picture (fair assumption right?). However, I did not. Boo to you Whestone Cutlery. Never heard of the company name before, and after this, I hope I, nor anyone I know ever do again. Worst buying experience I've had on Amazon, fair warning to whoever may read this, do not repeat my same mistake. If you're looking for a good set of decorative swords for not a lot of coin, think again on this purchase. You'll just end up with cheap looking crap that you'll be embarrassed to say you actually paid money for.

We bought this to go with our Asian themed living room and it not only was a GREAT deal but it's an excellent product that looks a lot more expensive. Because we bought this only as a decoration for the wall we were actually surprised that the blades do have some cutability to them and I am guessing if I had a sharpener that would fit the blades that these actually would become VERY sharp. The vendor told me you could not mount these to a wall, he was wrong, we were able to with a couple of light nails mount the holder and knives with no problem whatsoever although it's not stated in the description.

Honestly if the handle on one of the swords had not snapped the moment I opened it then I would have given these swords a better review as they look magnificent. They are certainly worth the price and great as decorations but they are not authentic at all and are made OD plastic and similar material a kids toy would be made with. The blade itself is metal however.

They do LOOK impressive in my room--but when you pick them up you can instantly tell they are cheap and low quality.

So if you want the real thing then avoid.

If you're ok with something just looking nice on the wall then these are perfect for you!

They are awesome!!! I did not expect much when my young son and I ordered these for our music room, wich has a dragon, orient, sword thing going on with dark red walls and a large dragon rug. The swords were for looks anyways. They shiped very fast and were packed very well!! They are awesome, very well made not a flaw on them. The stand is made of wood and that is even flawless. Excellent workmanship. The blades have asian writing on them and a very cool sharpening patern, looks awesome and came oiled so they don't rust. Beautiful covers with the dragons on them. I can't say enough about these swords. Plus they gave use a gift, a little letter opener, desk top samurai sword on a stan, it look awesome. For the money you simple can not beat these. We are not collectors or anything we just wanted the swords to look cool on a shelf, well they do!

For the price these swords are a steal.

However, if you're a mini-ninja planning on hacking your Mom's rose garden or pear tree to shreds, these swords probably aren't for you.

They arrived in perfect condition. The stand needed a little bit of sanding to get it flush, but that was the only issue.

I was very satisfied with these, but I want to make a note of what they actually are, as many of the reviews posted here are clearly written by confused customers.
These are display swords. They're very pretty (though not like in the picture- which appears to have metal dragon appliqués on the sheaths, which are actually stylized carvings and look better than the photograph), but not meant to be usable weaponry. They are stainless steel, not carbonized or battle-ready in any way. This means that they are not actually meant to be hit against ANYTHING, EVER. Even carbon(ized) blades are only meant to be struck against other battle-ready blades. Any stainless steel bladed weapon is display only, as steel is too brittle for any actual impact. The fact that people have broken these hitting them off things should not be a surprise. Stainless steel blades, however, require nearly zero maintenance, and generally stay shinier longer.

Actually, I was quite pleasantly surprised by the product. They're weighted evenly, and feel very much like the battle-ready katanas I'm familiar with. As I said, they were prettier than expected too. The stand does look a little cheap, but it's suitable enough. Also, they are not swords meant for form-practicing (or any practicing, thus the DISPLAY SWORD status), though I tried this with them (because I was curious when I felt the weight). The blades are not attached strongly enough to handle the force (meaning the force as they slice the air) that form practicing induces. They did not break or come off, it was simply a tremor I felt in them. I was also surprised by the fact that they're not dull (not dangerously sharp, but certainly not anywhere near as dull as I expected).

I bought these as a graduation gift for a friend, who was utterly thrilled by them. I imagine he'll have these for many years, and shows them to every one that comes in his house. For the price, you're really getting a steal with this product.
