Micahyah says:
I personally, as a Christan and an engineer, have contacted all of the top 100 evangelical organizations about this issue in the past year, and have contacted almost all of the faculty at the major divinity schools around the country. When will another Christian leader seek the truth about this issue and have the courage to stand up, much like church leaders in the past did in fighting other injustices in place in America?

I doubt that mainline Christianity will answer at all, since the truth does not fit their political agenda. Christian Scientists, Quakers and Unitarian Universalists are more likely to respond, as they are interested in seeking for truth, not promoting a political agenda.

Hopefully, the response from Christian leaders will be to ignore the absurdities presented in this book. Such wrongful conspiracy theories should be ignored and not fed. If it does rise to the need of response, then I hope Christian leaders will speak against and debunk this nonsense.

I am attending a once a week discussion of this book by Griffin at a main line church, Trinity Methodist in Seattle. If you are connected to a religion, why have you no courage?

K. E. Foulk says:
I have to assume, Mr. Weaks, you have not read the book. Griffin's congent arguments and painstaking documentation can lead no where except to the conclusion that the offical story of 9-11 is full of gaping holes and mounds of evidence point to government complicity in the attacks. Professor Griffin is a courageous American who has provided an amazing service to not only the citizens of the USA, but to all of the world. It's sad when people would rather turn away than open their eyes to see what is really happening. Confess your sins applies also to the activities of your country. Let's not be the people with eyes but do not see.

Marc Awodey says:
actually griffin's book is full of inductive fallacies. and what's appaling is that as a noted theologian i think he is quite aware of what he's doing - manipulating syllogisms to pander to the 9/11 truth fad. chapter 1 is replete with false analogies which have nothing to do the actual events of sept. 11 2001. chapter 2 is riddled with quotes taken out of context - the full quotes and transcripts are easily found online. - griffin ignores them. chapter 3 is based on a fallacy of exclusion- the massive structural damage to building 7 - which has been extensivly documented. 19 storys decimated from the SW corner, for example. chapter 4 restates numerous internet conspiracist suppositions which have been shown to be just plain wrong, and others that come from highly dubious sources. as for chapter 5... the problem with the "prima facie' case is that it's built on non-sequiturs, and ignores one major conflicting condition; IF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION CAUSED 9/11, WHY DIDN'T IT ALSO SHIP A FEW MOBILE WMD LABS OVER WITH THE INVASION TO ACTUALLY FIND WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN IRAQ? - it had the means and motive to - indeed such a lie would have been much easier to engineer than the madness of 9/11 - the press and public and the UN were expecting us to find them.

as for griffin's feel good take on christianity in part II - that is certainly lovely. i definitly prefer it over pat robertson's. but it's really sad that dr. griffin doesn't make a passonate appeal to anti-imperialism on the basis of the gospels alone... perhaps his faith isn't strong enough? instead, griffin's flabby google based research and appeals to motive in place of logical support render the book as irrelevant as a treatise on crop circles.

C. Simmons says:
So Marc,
You make these claims about the books' research and all of its 'fallacies', yet you seem unable to point ANY of them out...hmmm...oh except for the "extensively documented" structural damage to building 7. HA! That ALONE proves how full of hot air you are. The damage to building 7 has NEVER been documented in any way close to "extensive". People who leave comments like yours with pseudo-intellectual ego-petting phrases like 'inductive fallacies', 'replete with false analogies', 'manipulating syllogisms' should just feel embarrassed. Try actually looking into the evidence, read a few more books, watch some of the films like '9/11 Mysteries', and stop trying to calm your own uneasy nerves abou the MOUNTAINS OF EVIDENCE that DO in fact, exist.
And by the way, the 9/11 Truth movement is not a "fad". It is an ever-growing number of people who are unafraid of looking 'unpatriotic', and unafraid of looking at the truth. Try doing some of your OWN 'flabby google based research' and see for yourself how far the wool has been pulled over your eyes.

Vince says:
When will they respond? Probably never because the U.S. has craftily bought their silence via their Tax Exempt Status granted by the IRS on terms they never discuss politics (i.e. who's in control and what their agenda is). You can't serve two masters, and they've chosen "mammon."

Anna Yeisley says:
You need to directly view the evidence organized by the one thousand two hundred and seventy architects and engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911Truth.org) and the Scholars for 9/11 Truth. All the debunking videos and commentaries never address the actual evidence and the common sense physical laws of nature that buildings DO NOT FALL at the speed of gravity unless the structrual supports are severed. The only way to explain how all structure support ceased to hold up the building is through explosives. This is not nonsence this is 7th grade physics! View the evidence and you will see all the 'debunking junk' out there doesn't address the evidence. You are hiding your head in the sand by not directly viewing the coherent and consistent evidence of thermite explosives in the WTC dust.
