Funniest book I've ever read, every time I read it!,
By "singerdoc" (Dallas, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Which Reminds Me (Hardcover)
I read the Publishers Weekly review at the top of the page and was stunned at the criticism. Whoever wrote that review has no sense of humor, or is just an idiot. This book is the funniest, most enjoyable book I've ever owned. It was a gift in 1990 and is still entertaining me, my family, and my friends 14 years later. The stories are short and concise, so you can pick it up and start reading anywhere in the book. Maybe it's because I've done some theater and film work that I can identify so easily with the stories in the book. But I believe anyone could read this gem and get endless hours of laughter out of it. BUY THE BOOK!

How Did I Miss This Gem?,
By
This review is from: Which Reminds Me (Paperback)
WHICH REMINDS ME written in part by Tony Randall is a very fast and extremely funny read.
Perhaps I thought at first it was your standard show business autobiography ("and then I sang"). Wisely, Mr. Randall took the years he spent on Broadway and Hollywood and recalls all of the excellent stories and backstage gossip. From the first page to the last, the reader will be thoroughly amused by the clever and entertaining light that Mr. Randall throws on the psyche of the performer. True, he often captures them at their worse but he is not mean-spirited about it and if you take it in stride, you will enjoy this work as much as I did.

Delightful romp through "the good old days",
By Thomas "Software Developer who firmly believe... (Lady Lake, FL, United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) Through Tony Randall's gift of "perfect recall" we can relive the wonderful days when Hollywood was still big studios with contract actors. So many antecdotes about many famous people (actors, writers, producers, directors) I was laughing out loud many, many times. After reading this book I feel like Tony Randall is a good friend and I have spent an afternoon chatting with him on the porch.

Dull Book Full of Old Stories That Have Little to Do With the Author!,
By
This review is from: Which Reminds Me (Paperback)
This boring book has ancient show business stories which, for the most part, have nothing to do with Tony Randall! If you are expecting insights into his movies or TV shows, you won't find it here. Instead he goes back--as far back as the early 1900s--to tell supposedly funny stories about the theatre and movies. Most of the stories are second-hand and he admits that many are possibly not true! He also tells some dirty jokes and shows very little class. A major disappointment, not what you'd expect from Tony Randall.
