I loved Chaos Theory too! Its mostly cause of the co-op was a drop in drop out and your second character didn't have to matter. In fact I love the commentary when you completed the mission "kill the clone" they said. lol!
I was actually excited about the Amazon.com date being on August 5th. Which is my birthday but they have changed it and I could have guessed since its not set into stone. There are very few things that land on my birthday and that would had been one of the coolest gifts ever, now its just another sweet game after my birthday like most games. lol, oh well.
I'm looking forward to my Blacklist Paladin MMA Edition. Cause that plane.... looks, sweet-! :D
chaos theory is a masterpiece! the music, the pacing, the all-stealth mechanic, the story, the lighting...i don't think they'll get better than that. series is moving in more of an "action" type direction as of late. conviction was fun, but it wasn't a "true" splinter cell title and i don't think this one will be either. oh well.
il agree with you on not being a traditional SC game i felt it was a gameplay direction that had to be taken though to match the story.
I would have to go with Pandora tommorow since i havent played Chaos theory, , it was such a step up in terms of graphics and gameplay. the buttons were streamlined as well , sam also had a larger amount of animations. i remember loving the option to pick a lock just by pressing on the door instead of going into the inventory, selecting it and executing. Also the whistle and swat turns were awesome additions.
i will always have a special place for the first splinter cell, maybe becuase i was younger when i played it but il never forget the awesome feeling of sneaking into the CIA HQ and completing my mission without being detected
I have to say that while it's hard to pin it down to ONE favorite, I really miss the multiplayer facets of Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. Even though these modes seemed to favor the spies over the mercs, some of my best and favorite memories of the series were of playing those games with my friends and having a blast long into the night. I thought the co-op missions on Conviction were actually pretty good as well.
