Excellent Debut, December 13, 2005
This review is from: Whichever Chapter Covers Now (Audio CD)
I picked up both this album and Troubled Hubble's "Pentubia" when they played at my college stage. Judging by the live acts I held high hopes for Penturbia and not much for "Which ever chapter covers now."
I was quite wrong.
The album itself is excellent; it features thoughtful lyrics and good instumentation but the artful (and tasteful) sound editing (which is done by the band themselves) really pulls the music together. The haunting backgrounds on "Mt. Iceberg" and the juxtaposition of technobeats and acoustic guitar in "Tonights Now Tomorrow" really showcase the bands diverse talent.
The band itself has a psuedo-country feeling that leaves a Counting Crows or Wilco feeling with you. But they are truely unique.
From beginning to end it's an excellent album and I hope to see more of this band.
