On top of everything else, she has to struggle with a new job at the local supermarket. For comfort she turns to her only true friend – ice-cream.

But lately there's a handsome man driving the ice-cream van. Could romance be about to blossom?

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, November 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mrs Whippy (Open Door) (Paperback)
I learned a valuable lesson with this purchase ... always look at the item details. I love Cecelia Ahern's work and was excited to see a new book by her. I was very disappointed when it arrived and for $11 I got less than 50 pages. This book was written to encourage reading in Ireland but I don't think the $11 price tag will do that.

The story was cute and simple and very much like her other works. I can't complain about the content, exactly. I was just disappointed with the cost to page ratio.

So, it is a nice read and a cute story but wait to buy it until you aren't paying 25 cents a page.

The Open Door Series is written by Irish authors for adults learning to read. I tutor for adult literacy and my students love these books. When you finish with these books please donate them to your local literacy program. An Irish
slang dictionary if helpful, but not at all necessary.
